[Good morning, fellow Shellheads! This here's Pete, one of the newest arrivals, looking mildly distressed. Not so much because of the whole "hey welcome to an alternate dimension" thing, he's more or less over that. Sort of. Really, he's got more important matters to take care of.
Like getting back into a routine, and also maybe figure out what the heck is going on. He'd tried asking the kedan from the Metal Sector, but they were amazingly unhelpful and just a teensy bit rude, so he's managed to wander into a café in the Fire Sector after trying to get answers from the locals of other neighborhoods without success.]
Does anyone know if there's a school here, or at least a library of some kind? I've been trying to ask the locals a bit more about this place, but most of 'em aren't talking. They just keep saying "that's the Emperor's business" and pretend like I never asked a question in the first place.
So, considering how well that's been going, I figure asking anonymous strangers can't be much worse, right? Anything beats just getting stonewalled all day.

[Not that Pete minds of course, but there's this biology itch that needs to be scratched. You can't just go from top student and lab intern to...turtle hostage, or whatever he was right now! It's not something you can just quit cold turkey!]
At the very least I could probably just bother 'em 'til they let me in, right?
[Because it's not like he'd scheme to break in either. Clearly. That would be crazy.]

I believe she's talking about me, young man. I'm Professor Craig. I don't actively teach other subjects, though I suppose informally I could also teach history and mathematics. What might you be interested in specifically?

Wow, that was fast.
Oh, uh, afternoon, Professor! They hadn't really split the sciences yet back home, but I'd have to say biology and chemistry. I was even a student intern at the ESU lab for Dr. Connors before...this [gratuitous hand gestures away! Because how else would you describe being abducted by an inter-dimensional turtle?].
But, honestly, I'd settle for anything at this point. Having a routine again might help me get used to this place a lot faster. Or not go crazy, at least.

I can't say I've heard of 'Dr. Connors', but that is fairly impressive.
I'll draft up a curriculum for you, if you'd like?

[Still hasn't quite bought into the alternate universes explanation yet...]
And I'd appreciate it, I can start whenever you're ready!

I must say, it's unusual for a young man to be as enthusiastic about his schooling.

[Sure he liked school enough on his own, but there was no procrastinating doing homework in that household.]
Besides, who doesn't like learning something new?
[Don't answer, Pete's already got a list of people as long as his arm, Professor :|]

Most of the people who attend my class, generally speaking.
