[Mark is sitting in one of the internet cafes. Outside, Eshai the turtle is waiting impatiently for him next to the window. On her back are a bunch of long boxes.]

Hey guys. I actually got these a while back during landfall, but with everything that happened right after... [He trails off. He'd rather not mention Eshai's death.] Anyway it seems my comic book collection has turned up on the turtle. You can see them over there, on top of Eshai. [Motions to the turtle and the box.] Yeah, yeah, I'm a nerd, I know. But it's a lot of reading material and it's in English, so... as long as you promise not to rip, bend, or otherwise ruin them, anyone is more than welcome to borrow anything you want. [Seriously. Don't ruin them. You'll make him cry.] I highly recommend Science Dog.

[Goes to turn off the feed, but then stops when he thinks to add:] Oh, and thanks again, Barry. I owe you.

[Turns the feed off for real this time.]

That's a lot of comics. [Toro whistled, pretty impressed.] They must like comics around here since I found a big box of mine a couple months back, too. What kind do you collect?

[Science Dog doesn't mean anything to him.]

Fantasy? [That is a new kind of comic genre for him.] What are those about, stories like Snow White? Most of the ones I have are from during the war. They haven't been publishing as many recently. Captain America, The Angel, things like that. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff they come up with.

Lord of the what? [Sorry, but he has no idea what that is. He's a few years too early for to mean anything.] That doesn't ring any bells for me, sorry, but don't worry about it.

[He laughs a bit since he's used to not getting a lot of things around here.] But the comics I collect are just the ones they make up stuff about how Cap punched Hitler into a well or he and Bucky passed through checkpoints dressed like a couple of frilly dames. Then there's the one ol' Fishsticks attacking New York with flying submarines and me and Pappy--uh, I mean The Human Torch--tried to catch these kidnappers by me turning to a life of crime. It's not all wrong, but they sure did dress it up a lot.

[Toro shrugs, because he has no idea what the book is to correct Mark about it.]

Yeah that's about what they are. Putting the fear of the Invaders and heroes of America into the hearts of Nazis and warmongers everywhere. [That sounds very rehearsed, like he's said it more times than he can ever count. Then he laughs.] Sometimes I start wondering if I remember things wrong since so many people think the comics are the real deal.

You wanna see 'em?

Nazis paid attention to everything any of the Allies did back then. [The comics were really more to convince the American public, but sticking it to the Axis at the same time was just as good.]

Where do you want to meet. I can give you the first couple'a issues of Captain America and the All-Winners.
