[ age isn't something Akito has ever thought too much about. probably because laws had never quite applied to him, nor had he attended school - both things where age was an important factor. he used to have birthdays when he was very young, but the routine didn't last very long and so, aside from keeping track of how many birthdays he's lived through, Akito doesn't pay much attention to them. they were never a big deal, and seemed so unimportant...
but now, in Keeliai, he's grown used to people giving him strange looks. since spending more time with Ayin, and occasionally Meisheng, he's learned that while he can blend in with the kedan he would still receive looks, and soon enough Akito realized it was because of his stature and apparent age. where back home nobody gave a second glance to a diminutive kid who could take down mobs of armed men with only his legs and some hooks on ribbon, it had caused many kedan to give him a second glance.
normally he still wouldn't think too much about his age. but normally didn't include falling asleep and waking up a year later in a body that decided to start puberty without him. sure, it hadn't been much of a noticeable change, but it was enough to make his body feel like a stranger's and Akito more aware of the fact that he was growing up when he had been so sure that he wouldn't get to experience that particular aspect of life.
so, being confronted with ganglier limbs and a voice that still cracks and is of a lower pitch than he's used to (but has grown kind of fond of), and the fact that he's getting older... well. now Akito wonders, with his birthday approaching, just how old he actually is. ]
Hello! Um... It's been a long time, ne? I haven't checked on the network in forever...
Anyway, I'm Akito! I run Gazelle Delivery. I mostly just do deliveries for The Snakes and the Metalworkers, but I'll do a delivery for anyone who asks!
But, ah... I also have a question! How would... How would you measure your age? In chronological years that you've existed, or in the years of experience you've had? I guess... Physical age compared to mental age? How many years your memory believes you lived as opposed to how many years your body has lived?
Thank-you!

That's too vague an idea to expect a single number for, especially among this lot.

From the answers I've gotten so far I think I might take the oldest age I could be and the youngest age I could be and find the average age, then start counting from that.

[ If he averages his original age, and the age of the body he got stuck in, that'll at least put him closer. ]

[ The situation has some parallels, but Bakura hardly considers it a problem. ]

But the least they could have done, given they went through the trouble of giving me one, was give me my own.
[ He's still moderately grouchy about that. True, copying Ryou's form had allowed him to masquerade as the teen for the first few months which, despite some issues at the end, had ultimately been more benefit to him than not. ]

[ so not exactly the same, but similar enough to mention. ]

I'm just curious now... If this is a copy of our body, then I wonder if I'll get to keep a separate body if I ever go back home. It would be kind of cool...

[ Except Bakura knew it wasn't true; not after he'd gone back to his world from the Dreaming, and ended up -- as Eshai had once promised -- at the exact time and place he'd been taken from, and without a solid memory of where he'd spent the better part of a year. But knowing that hardly seemed like it would serve Akito at the moment, so the thief played mute on the subject. ]
You think the other person would appreciate it too?
