Radio - 03 Knight Warrior
[ Loosely private to Yuri Lowell ]
Setting up a test run. [ Yuri did say to keep in touch. ]
I'm at the shore on the fire-sector side. Rather test in the distance rather than over heads, less likely to alarm that way.

I hear you.
That's prooobably a good idea.
[Last thing they need is to alarm the locals.]

Although I have no idea what shape the crest at the top will look...
[ Sounds of Duke sitting down. ]
no subject
[Why did he stop in the middle of his sentence like that?]
no subject
[ Duke talks to himself, okay. He isn't used to thinking these things at people. ]
Focusing now. It will take a moment for anything to start. Haven't made anything this large ... in a while ...
no subject
[Kidding, Duke. Kidding.]
What are the chances this thing'll work anyway?
no subject
He's speaking slowly now. Focusing on two things. ]
I think it is medium to high for success. Barriers keep out monsters all the time... I've tested it on a personal scale, I could keep water out...
no subject
[He's no mage but even he knows this world runs differently than their own. Even though they're still able to use their bodhi blastia.]
no subject
[ Absently he adds: ]
I haven't set up a barrier blastia upon Terca Lumireis either.
no subject
[Well okay then. He'll just... sit here and wait. And hope that Duke succeeds. The odds are looking pretty good though.]
no subject
Duke, as usual, is comfortable with silence. Everything is going well, and explaining what he is doing would be lost on Yuri anyway.
Comfortable silence until there is a flicker of the familiar barrier lights in the sky.
Which promptly flicker out, Duke makes a noise like someone punched him in the gut, and then it's somewhat ominous silence. ]
no subject
Whoa, hey... what's going on? Duke?
no subject
Duke is sort of out of it and away from his radio at the moment. So ... uneven breathing. ]
no subject
[Nothing.]
Dammit!
[And without really thinking, Yuri drops everything and takes off running. Heading for the area that Duke had described, the shore near the Fire Sector.]
-> action?
The area has some of the charged feel that is similar to too much aer in one place, and Duke is a couple of feet back from where his radio is. ]
no subject
Hey, you all right?
no subject
better if... [ He just grimaces again. The shaking made his stomach hate everything, let him get settled again. ]
no subject
So I take it that didn't go so well.
[It definitely felt weird. What went wrong?]
Can you stand?
no subject
That last however. He isn't sure why that is a question. ]
Yes. [ He sounds little confused.
He also doesn't get to much more than a crouch in trying to stand. His balance wobbles, and he ends up face down on the ground in confusion. The ground moved on him- ]
Must... have slipped into a krene...
no subject
With a sigh he pushes himself up and moves over to bend down and place Duke's arm around his shoulder to help the guy up.]
Last time I checked, turtles don't have krene.
no subject
And he's trying to figure out why he couldn't have slipped into a krene. Turtle? Oh. Right. ]
Still feel aer sick.
no subject
Right... well, let's get you to a clinic.
[And with that Yuri starts leading Duke back to town, slowly.]
no subject
Duke focuses on the walking part. This is a good thing because he kinda needs to focus on the staying upright, as crappy as he's feeling at the moment... but also a bad thing. He's feeling terrible, and the last time he had felt this way was quite some time ago, being helped by someone else.
They're probably pretty close when Duke's foggy thoughts make him pretty sure this is a home thing, not a turtle thing. It doesn't quite make sense, but of course, not much at the moment does. ]
I'm sorry.
no subject
Hey, don't sweat it. You gave it your best.
no subject
... Sorry, it is... hard for me to think, when.... feel aer sick. [ He thought you were someone else for a moment. There's something like a grimace - he's not entirely certain now, that he wants to be in a town, in a city, while not at his best. People. ]
