Yup, the first part is right. You can go to a department store or something, and you'll see a guy dressed as Santa there, where you can tell him what you want for Christmas, and get your picture taken with him. But if you want to write a letter, you can give it to him, or take it to the post office, and they'll send it on to the North Pole, to make sure he gets it.
