[ The feed picks up to show our ginger-haired speedster in civilian clothes; this is his first time posting to the network, but he's gotten the gist of it from replying to other people. Behind him, if anything is really visible, people will see a few stray boxes, but otherwise the rest is empty. There are also a few pieces of visible damage courtesy of the recent storm; he had been rather absentminded and forgot to secure parts of his suite beforehand. Oh well, he'd get to fixing that eventually.

For right now, he was just staring at the screen like he was about to huff.

Quite frankly, this blows. ]

Getting this lab of mine together is taking longer than I thought, and it's not so much the equipment. [ Though that was taking a considerable chunk out of his wages from working the Fire Sector herbalist. ]

I don't know what's exactly what here. I have to calculate how things like air pressure might affect my experiments; whatever this place is, I need to make sure the physics are right. Then there's ingredients - all I know what to deal with is the few recipes my boss's trained me in.

Any other scientists out there having these issues?

Pretty primitive here, at least for me. There's no battlestars, vipers, or Cylons. [GOOD DAMN THING because she'd shoot them dead.]

Everything seems the same, the chemistry, the physics... I don't know about the biology. [ Locals and the flora were all proving to be really strange. ]

But I can't go doing stuff based on appearances.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Trying to recreate some experiments I had started back home. One of the things I was working on was adding an invisibility function to my sui-

Speed suit. Protects my body when I'm running, especially close to the speed of sound.

It's not too uncommon where I come from. We have people who can shoot lasers out of their eyes, too. And then there's this weirdo who runs around at night, dressed like a bat.
