I know they said that this place is somewhere in-between life and death, and it seems that most people remember being alive before they were brought here.

But I was wondering; is there anyone [anyone else] here that... wasn't?

[True, Yue was going to become the Moon Spirit shortly after, but she was brought here before that could happen. So as far as she knows, she's just... well. Dead. But not dead.

... It's all very confusing, really. But mostly, Yue is wondering if there's anyone else here who was in her predicament.]

That's why I was wondering. I've heard people talking about being alive before, but nothing after that. Although I suppose admitting that you're dead wouldn't be a very good feeling.

Probably not the best one, but I kinda think it'd be almost lucky? I mean it's kind of a second chance, right, to do all the crap you mighta done back then but now you know so you can do it now.

But, y'know, kind of sucks huge either way, I guess, in a lot of ways.

The knowledge of your own death would definitely be difficult, even if you had come to terms with it before it happened. [Still not quite comfortable with really talking about herself in that sense. Sokka and Asami know, but that's because Sokka was there and Asami is from her world. So.]

After a while it would probably be hard to think about all the things you couldn't do with your life, because of everything that happened. [Like grow up, raise a family, live a long, full life...]

But it's like you said! This place almost works as a second chance at life! So... it isn't so bad!

Yeah. But everyone dies sometime, I guess, so some people might like knowing what to expect and when, I guess.

Guess if you know, you gotta focus on good stuff and all that. Could always be worse, right?

That's true. There's always something worse, even if it's hard to imagine.

[Not particularly hard for her to imagine, but sometimes she finds herself regretting those missed opportunities anyway.]

Not sure. I felt pretty alive, but I also remember dying.

[... So this person is someone like her. Or at least, it seems like they are. She remembers dying, but she feels alive now. But... they said 'felt'. Past tense. So does that mean they died and somehow came back in their own world?]

Though now that you say that, the more it sounds a little less good and a little more depressing, but yeah.

I'd say it's complicated, but that's an understatement. Short answer: yes.

... I suppose it does. But better a second chance than nothing at all, right?

I see. [That's... quite interesting, actually. And it sort of reminds Yue of what happened to her. Or will happen. She died, and then became the new Moon Spirit. That's sort of like coming back to life. Only it's a new, different life.

... Okay, maybe it's not so similar, but still.

Part of Yue wants to say that she knows what dying is like, too, but at the same time... she doesn't even know who this person is. And she doesn't know if she can trust them with that kind of information.]

I'm Princess Yue, by the way. [Not said with any indication that she needs a name in return. It would be nice, but the way she figures, after learning this the least she could do is let them know who they're talking to.]

Depends. Anything could've happened between what I remember and washing up on the shore here.

That's true. There really isn't a way to tell what happened to us before we woke up. I suppose only the Kedan would know. [... Not a particularly comforting thought, really.]

Maybe, maybe not. We don't have any reason to trust what they say either way.

Usually this whole "between" business makes the line between alive and dead fuzzy anyway. It's better not to think in those terms.

A second chance means a helluva lot, most of the time.

[Well, he came back to life because some guy in a red cape and red undies punched time and altered reality. Sure it felt real, but who's to say that wasn't all just his session in purgatory. Logic, right?

What use would someone have in knowing I'm a Princess? I'm not in my tribe anymore. I have no power or influence over the people here.

It does. It may not be the same as being back in my home, but it's still a second chance. It probably be for the best to try and make the most of it.

I was sleeping, at least I think I was, before I woke up here. But I suppose I could have died? I'm not sure, since, you know, I was sleeping.

Unfortunately, any other option seems highly unlikely, so I should say, yeah.
