[Clark (and not Superman this time, so no anonymous location) has had a busy time ever since they became able to reach Mainland so it's been a while since he's made a post. No video this time, he's still trying to avoid showing his face in a public post unless really needed.]

Uh, hi. Clark Kent here- I hope those of you who went to visit the mainland are alright? I've heard of how dangerous it could be over there.

[And felt it, but that's neither here not there.]

I actually want to ask about that. Haven't you wondered why are we able to visit the mainland without any kind of trouble? All the foreigners who're able to fly or swim have tried to leave, and they have always found some kind of invisible barrier that prevents them from going any further.

Somehow that barrier has now included this land... maybe we should try to figure out how it works? I'm not an expert by any means but I know there's talented magic users in this place.

The second question I have is way less important but I'd still like to know. The newspaper... well, it can't be written out because it'd present the obvious translation problems we've already discussed over the network. We have to read it out loud.

So I ask for volunteers to do that task. Would anyone be up for it?

I don't really like to state the obvious to you guys, but... a certain friend of mine has decided to pay us a visit.

He doesn't seem to be from my world but I still don't trust him. I'll be keeping an eye on him but be careful. For all we know this could even be his doing.

A friend started to tell me about magic, but she never finished her explanation. What is it, exactly?

[That name...it rings a very faint bell in her mind. Not enough to make a connection, but considering how many other "bells" had gone off since her arrival here, it was enough to at least pique her curiosity.]

How far did the barrier go before we touched onto the mainland?

Then a podcast it is. My point was to try to find someone who'd like to do that.

[He has to hide a guilty smile because he wasn't exactly thinking of calling for an emergency when he got hurt.]

From what I have seen... most people end taking care of themselves or know someone who will do that.

It's... more or less performing supernatural feats with only their powers.

[And all of her rings a bell, but he doesn't recognize her. Not yet anyway. Recognizing people from other worlds is hard enough when their ages aren't all wrong.]

[ She knits her brow as she sniffed out a hint of guilt; not out of concern but that she wasted her time if people weren't even going to use her ECL. ]

That kind of individualistic pride is like to get someone killed.

That's pretty restrictive.

Considering how far people were able to travel inland, it's possible that the shield was completely canceled out.

There's a barrier that keeps people on the turtle? How far around the turtle does it extend? And in all directions?

What kind of newspaper is it here?

Maybe there's something in the turtle or the mainland that cancels out the barrier to a certain distance. If the barrier's just on the water...

Has anyone tried taking energy readings up to the barrier? I realize there's some risk in it, and maybe we don't have the necessary equipment here, but I think it might be worth trying scientific analysis as well as magic. [ There's a wry twist to her lips on that last word - she's still having trouble with the concept, to be honest. ]

I was a radio show host in Denver. It wasn't exactly NPR, but my home station was an affiliate.

It is clearly dangerous, but it's like someone wants us to go out there. I'd avoid it; it feels like a trap.

It's not.

[He shrugs] It has been tested but not measured- a couple miles, at the least. It used to go in all directions but apparently it has been extended somehow so we could visit the mainland... which is why I was asking. It's kind of unusual.

It's still on the works, but it's meant to be something for us foreigners to share the news and to learn about this place.

[He nods, making a face] It is, and it went on all ways. Some tried to swim, some tried to fly... only to end at the sea again.

It could be, but I think it was just shifted to something else. Some people have reported their powers lessening the more they went into the mainland- maybe that's their way of letting us walk away while making sure we come back.

...Whoever 'they' are, anyway.

[He nods, scratching the back of his neck.]

It could, but it's not something that can be really avoided. Maybe we should think of some way to patrol around? Or find a way to get to more people- oh, would you like the newspaper to have friendly reminders about it?

The more people that know about it the more likely it is they will call us and we'll be able to save a life in time.

[Clark lets out a hum, consider his interest picked.]

That would be wonderful, anyone with experience in this field could be helpful. I worked in a newspaper so I mostly do written word, not spoken.

[Both eyebrows rise up at that. Science is a language he speaks and loves, magic not so much.]

I don't think anyone- [and then he stops himself because he knows of someone who will get to do exactly that as soon as he reads this (and he knows he will). That is if he hasn't done the readings it already. The pain of being friends with Bruce Wayne.]

Actually, I have a friend who might do just that if he had the right tools. Are you a scientist? Maybe I could get a hand on the readings.

[He let's out a little grin, he's so proud she caught herself in time]

Superman and you use the energy stocked in your cells. It's not magic, it's simply science.

Magic cannot be explained, magic is... controlling any force of nature.

[ Well that's just frustrating. ]

The forces of nature can be controlled with science. If that's magic, then so are my powers, aren't they?

[He nods, that's something that had crossed his mind as well. He still traveled to the mainland anyway... and then he got hurt.]

We've seen people go and come back though, and even though there is danger we still managed to avoid it.

If it's a trap I don't really see the use in it. [Then again Luthor is here so who knows.]

Maybe the barrier is connected to the water somehow.
