Weird question, but has anyone else been contacted by any of the kedan out of nowhere? Asking about your work, or anything like that?

[Technically the saying goes 'two is a coincidence, three is a pattern,' but any scientist knows that sample size is dependent on the question being investigated. In this case, Tony thinks that n=2 is significant.]

So far, they've wanted to be more independent. Though... they've been asking everybody different things. It doesn't really sound like one specific project, either.

I don't know. You think it's just a "Foreigner inclusion" initiative? [Tony's not convinced that's the explanation, but it's a nice idea.]

It could very well be. There are Kedan in this city who are quite welcoming to Foreigners - perhaps they simply think it may improve our relationship to the benefit of all if they're more open to working together.

Except that some of the people who contacted us aren't "quite welcoming" to Foreigners usually. Usayi will work with us when he thinks it will help the whole city, but Odyni definitely doesn't like us.

It's not unheard of for people to put aside personal opinions for a greater cause. Usayi and Odyni, whatever their thoughts on Foreigners, have responsibilities that go beyond their own interests.

Yeah, that's true. They both want the best for the city, even if they don't like us.

But I'd love to know what somebody had to say to convince them to suck it up and try to be nice to us.

Let us stay on the optimistic side, and hope their incentive for being so amicable is simply for the well-being of their community.
