[ Waking in a new world was definitely not something Marinette expected to greet her when she opened her eyes. On the plus side, she had her belongings with her - even Tikki, though the kwami seemed very groggy and tired. She reassured Marinette she'd be fine, it wasn't like when she got sick back then, so Marinette let the kwami sleep and devoted her attention to finding out where she was and exactly what was going on. Cut to about...two hours later, when she accesses the network, her mind spinning with the information she'd been given. ]

[ She probably found her way to one of the console cafe's honestly, but she presents herself with a polite smile (if a little bit awkward). ][ She pauses, as something occurs to her. Her first option should have been making her way to that Welcome Center to stay, but she had prioritized getting Tikki some food instinctively. Hopefully it'd help the kwami recover. ]

I'll ... probably be at this cafe for a little bit longer, but I really should have a look around soon too.

[ She'd totally doesn't think anyone from home is here either. She hesitates a moment to consider her topics, and finally settles on one. ]

So, I guess I'll be seeing you all around! If you've got any suggestions of places to take a look at, I'm open to ideas.

[ She needed to get her bearings in this place after all, especially with what's been going on. Once from the ground.. and then once from the air, when Tikki was recovered. Before ending her connection though, she grins and flashes a cheerful V'sign. Peace Out? ... so lame, Marinette. ]

[ For several long seconds, Marinette is doing her very best impression of a fish. Complete with her mouth opening and closing as she flounders (haha) for a response. That... that is ADRIEN. What is he doing here!? When did he get here!? But it's -ADRIEN- and she wasn't -expecting- to see Adrien and her hair was a /MESS/ (no it isn't) and... and just look at that happy expression on his face! ]

[ WOW that was barely even a squeak. Come on Marinette, you can do better than that. Breathe. Actually, yes, breathing is a very good piece of advice, and it seems she forgot how to do that for a second. She finally sucks in a mouthful of air as she snaps out of her stunned realization. ]

A..Adrien? B..but you...! How -..? [ How about we try for ONE sentence, Marinette. Just one. ]

...h..hi...! [ She clears her throat with a nervous laugh, her hands gripping the edge of the table. Breathe. BREATHE. ]

I... I didn't know you were here too..! I mean, you were ...we were just in class together! Well not TOGETHER, Nino and Alya and Chloe and - [ STOP IT. ]

Uh..! Y-yeah, that'd be really ... cool. Yeah. Yeah, cool.

[ Cool by definition being something she is completely failing at. Wait, did she just agree to let him find her and show her around and... oh dear GOD SHE LOOKS A MESS. Her hair isn't brushed, and she might have bad breath from eating that cookie and and and.... ]

[He laughs, because she is so damn adorable when she's flustered, but also from the sheer joy of seeing her again, hearing her voice once more. ]

I promise I'll explain it. It's...a little complicated. I've been here a long time.

[She looks beautiful and he would fight anyone who said otherwise. He laughs nervously, rubbing the back of his head. Be cool, be cool. ]

I think I recognise where you are, I can be there soon, okay? Just...sit tight.

[ What is she getting all flustered about - she saw him less than 24 hours ago. Although... a long time. How long was Adrien here? A few days? Hours? ... that just... didn't seem -possible-. ]

O... okay.

[ She'd just have to psych herself up before he got here. ]

Sure, I'll be waiting! I-I'll see you soon.

[ She'd .. freak out in the bathroom for a few minutes, and then when Adrien came to meet her she would be sitting so so calmly. Actually he wouldn't notice her sitting far too tensely, she hoped. ]

[Oh boy is she in for a fun surprise when he tells her. The best fun surprise ever. ]

[And he'll quietly freak out to himself the whole way to her. He has so much to tell her, he know he has to be honest, absolutely honest, but she's also in a brand new place. She needs to be able to settle. Understand how this place works. Know the dangers there are.

He eventually comes in, grinning and giving a little wave as he moves to sit across from her. ]

Hi, Marinette. I- it's really good to see you.

[ Yay fun surprises! She can hardly wait! She was jiggling her leg a little restlessly, glancing around the cafe with her purse clutched tightly in her hands, Tikki fast asleep inside. When she saw Adrien walk in though, she jumped to her feet so quickly she almost banged her knee on the table. She cleared her throat a bit, sitting down again, glad he couldn't see how badly her legs were fidgeting. ]

ADR..ien! Hi..! .. Hello um.. it's great to see you too. Good, I mean. Great. Goodly great. [ She wished she could will herself to stop talking like. FOREVER. ]

So... [ Awkard pause. Very awkward pause. ] How have you been?

[ That... really wasn't what she wanted to say but it'll do for now. ]

[He laughs, but it's not a cruel one, it's the genuine, delighted laugh she manages to bring out in him. God she is so adorable. A blush crosses his cheeks at the thought of it, but he tries to hide it with a duck of his head.It's cool, she won't notice, right?
It's coooool.]

I'm...pretty okay. Better now you're here. I've missed you.

[He pauses, rubbing the back of his neck. ]

I mean...uh, you've been here before, a lot of times, actually. But yooou won't really remember it. It's rare if you do. I think the Dreaming plays with your memory, or something.

[ Her face felt like it was on fire. Was it on fire? Actually, the entire temperature of the room seems to have raised considerably. ]

You.... missed me? [ She didn't think she'd ever hear those words from him, and she couldn't even begin to process the complicated bundle of feels that flooded her at that. .... fortunately a bucket of ice water was provided to bring her back to reality before she could even really enjoy knowing he missed her. HER, not just their friends, but specifically HER. ]

I wha.. what? Here? A lot of times?

Yeah I.. don't remember any of that. I wish I did, if I knew you were here I would never have lef-

Um. I mean -- I .. I wouldn't abandon my friends in a dream or.. another world if I had the choice.

I really did.

[There's a softness to his tone, an underlying sadness. Being without her, losing her so many times hurt. But he knows, oh how he knows, how she would have fought it if she could. He offers a smile. ]

I know you wouldn't. Sometimes, that kind of thing just...happens.

[He has a lot to tell her, and he knows he HAS to tell her, it's only fair, but not yet. He needs to get her situated first. ]

Anyway, uh. If there's anything you want to know about living here, I can tell you. I've been here for over a year, now.

[ She blushed again at the confirmation, twiddling her fingers together under the table. Ohgosh. OHGOSH. ]

I... I'm sorry. Even if it is something out of my control I still...feel like I should say that.

[ She is quick to seize on the new topic though, smiling a little. ]

Well.. I've talked to a few people also, while waiting for you to meet me here, and they've suggested the Welcome Center?

[ She just -barely- suppressed the urge to ask if he was staying there too. Don't be a creepy stalker, Marinette....don't be more of one. ]

I thought I'd check that place out, .. have you been there?

It's okay, I don't blame you. It's just one of those things.

[He almost says he's used to people leaving him, but he bites it down before it comes up. That isn't her fault, either, and he's not about to mention it and make her feel any worse than she already does. ]

That's a good place to start. The people who run it are pretty great and good at setting you on your way. Like they can point you where jobs are, or places to stay.

..Er. I mean, you still have a room in the apartment I live in, but I can understand if you want to find somewhere else. The Hotel is a good place to stay, actually.

[ Nod nod, yep she agres with him, looking thoroughly pleased her idea was spot on. ]

Ah, yeah... I was thinking about what kind of job I might try to get. [ Part time job? Freelance? She was concerned about having to leave work early if something cam- WHOAH what? WAit WHAT? ]

WHAT? [ Marinette, there's no reason to be so startled you jump out of the seat - that's just drawing attention! ... but could she be blamed? She glanced around quickly, and sat down again, blushing intensely. H.. her and Adrien. In the same building... no... in the same apartment...! That was .. that was ...!!

....that was a problem if she needed to change into Ladybug... hgggn. BUT STAYING WITH ADRIEN. But... ]

I-- I mean we... we were in the same building? The same....same apartment? [ Wait wait, Marinette. Calm down. Logically it would..make sense right? After all they were...friends, and the only people from their France here so .. of course they would want to keep tabs on each other right? That's... that's all it was. ]

Uh...well... I... [ If he knew she was Ladybug she'd...be far less hesitant about taking him up on that offer. She wouldn't have to worry about him finding out accidentally. ]

You could do just about anything. Even make clothes! That's always something that's useful around here.

[Oh boy, did she have some things to learn. He laughs, rubbing the back of his head.]

We are, but it's not a problem. I- um. There's more you should know about. To know it's not a problem, but I don't wanna overload you. You just got here.

Y-yeah! that's just what I was thinking.

[ Staying with him in a building. Not only would it save costs, but this was like a dream come true for her! She was mentally shrieking so loudly she was surprised that the windows of her soul hadn't shattered. ]

More..? [ JEEZ Louise, what more could she possibly need to know? ....

... wait...what...what if he's...Oh no. Oh no no, what if he's with someone? He's been here for a long time and she wouldn't be surprised if someone else had fallen for him and oh god if he was with someone she would just die. Just curl up and DIE. ]

I think the people of Kedan would really love to see some of your amazing designs. They're really something, after all.

[He will consistently have the uttermost faith in her in this. He perks considerably.]

[He clears his throat, suddenly nervous...more so already, anyway. He reaches out,
puts his hand over hers, smiles.]

It's...actually really important. But we should be somewhere private for it. Just to be safe. I want...need to tell you. It's important you know.

[ Oh wow, this much praise for her designs was almost too much. ]

W-wow, t..thanks Adrien. That means a lot to me...

[ She didn't think he'd ever know how much that meant to her. And she breathes out silently when he perked up, even though she was firmly convinced she was going to spend the first minute she could, screaming into a pillow. ]

Great! Good, grand. Okay, that's.. that's perfect! [ And then that cold cold ice bucket splash of reality. Something really important. Somewhere.. private? She had a terrible, terrible feeling about this. But she didn't stop smiling, if only because his hand was touching hers. Bad news or not, that was more than worth it. Maybe. ]

U-um.... allright if... you think it's important.

Hey, anytime, what are friends for right?

[He nods, giving that hand a squeeze, before remembering that, oh, right. She doesn't remember. That's the whole point He removes it, rubbing his neck awkwardly. ]

It's so important. But it-it's not a bad thing! I hope!

[ The bucket of ice cold water is accompanied by the CRUSHING POWER OF FRIENDSHIP. Right, right - don't get ahead of yourself Marinette. ]

[ D.. did he have to do that - call her a friend and then squeeze her hand and make her heart feel like it was being compressed too. He pulled his hand back and she quickly placed hers together, folding them primly. ]

That's good... it must be something that really makes you happy. [ And doesn't make Marinette want to shake her rival to bits at all. Ahem. ]

I'll be able to get used to this place much more easily with you here -- uh... you can show me all the tips and tricks and everything..!

[He;s good at making everyone second guess themselves. It's a gift, really. ]

I- actually, it is. It makes me really, really happy.

[He sure is blushing, like a lovestruck puppy. Or kitten, in this case. ]

[ And he remains oblivious to it all, the sweet cinnamon roll that he is. And... wow that blush, Adrien. Marinette doesn't think she's seen him blush quite THAT much before. Whoever caught his eye was a lucky lucky person she was super envious of. ]

Oh, I'm sure I will! I mean you're... [ Here. ] able to show me around and all, and I adjust to things pretty quickly so... I feel like once I know where everything is, and our... our...a..ah..apartment is that'll already be a big help. ...and I want to be able to do something for you in return, so if you need anything, yu can just ask me, okay?

[ She'll never be far, if she can help it. She's wouldn't be stalking him, nooooo, she's just ...making sure he's okay. He's been alone for a long time here! ]

[Clearly, her envy will be unmatched. What fun it will be when she learns she was envious of herself. ]

I know you;ll do just fine. I-uh we live in the Sky Sector. I picked it because I work in the Healer's Guild, so it's near to work. I've been learning how to help people, it's...really great.

[Oh, Marinette.]

It's okay, you don't owe me anything. If our situations were reversed, I know you'd do the same for me.

[ ABSOLUTELY. She'd have to sabotage her...self? Wait, no, she doesn't do that anymore. She learned her lesson (boy did she ever) on that. ]

That's amazing, Adrien! I'm really happy for you! [ She was going to have to work extra hard not to derp out and hurt herself and worry him or anything now! Well... yeah. Still, she was proud and impressed he was following that path - not surprised in the least though. ]

I'll probably be signing up with the Crafts and Trades Coalition, I think. Um - although.. I should make sure I have everything I need for ...crafting. [ Starting to make a mental list, she jumps a bit at the latter statement. ]

I.. Of course..! [ She'd do anything for him! ...almost anything anyway. But she files this information away to mentally note location of the Healer's Guild as one of the more Important(tm) ones to keep an eye on. ]

So .. uh. I .. I guess we should go to the...the thing. You know. Where we're... living. Together. [ Beat. ] Ah! Unless you're busy - I know you came out of your way to meet me here and everything, but I don't want to get in the way -- I could probably find it probably since I have a map of the city here-

[ And she almost knocks poor Tikki out of her purse in her haste to tug the map out - eep! She quickly stuffs it back in (almost squishing Tikki in the process. Sorry Tikki ilu ) ]

But now that I think about it there'd be little point since I don't have a key -..ahaaaha.. [ Marinette mentally kicks herself. Stop talking, jeez. ]

That'd be a perfect place for you! I'm sure they'd be really happy to have you on board.

[It's SO important. ]

The apartment? [He laughs, but it's fond, as he watches her try to get up and be...well, her. It always surprises him, how full of grace she is as Ladybug, but here, as herself, she's klutzy. Adorably so. ]

[ All this praise - it's good they were both humble, or it'd start going to their heads! ]

Shall we go? [ Her own key. Her own key with the apartment with Adrien. It was almost disappointing that it took being spirited away to a new world for this to happen - but damnit, she's making the most of it. ~~Wait - this means she can't have a wall of Adrien in her room. Oh noes~!~~ ]

[None of them would ever fit through doors. ]

Of course you can't, it#s too good a talent to let that happen.

[He grins, unable to help the fact he's actually...pretty excited. And nervous. He stands, heading towards the door (opening it for her, of course) ]

Oh sure! Let's go. I hope you like it. It's pretty small, but it's nice.

[It's perfectly average sized, he just grew up in a freaking mansion. ]

[ Adrien's not the only one who's excited -- and nervous. Not only was it the first time she was living away from home, but she would be living away from home with a boy - and that boy happened to be Adrien. That's like a triple whammy of nervousness there. But she had Tikki with her, so she'd be fine! She hoped. ]

Oh I don't mind~! I mean, I'm sure it's fine. [ She gets to her feet, rather glad she didn't bang her knee into the table or something, and with a grateful grin, stepped through the door he held for her. And not -into- the doorframe. She won't even comment that the apartment isn't 'small' when she sees it. ]
