[ Waking in a new world was definitely not something Marinette expected to greet her when she opened her eyes. On the plus side, she had her belongings with her - even Tikki, though the kwami seemed very groggy and tired. She reassured Marinette she'd be fine, it wasn't like when she got sick back then, so Marinette let the kwami sleep and devoted her attention to finding out where she was and exactly what was going on. Cut to about...two hours later, when she accesses the network, her mind spinning with the information she'd been given. ]

[ She probably found her way to one of the console cafe's honestly, but she presents herself with a polite smile (if a little bit awkward). ][ She pauses, as something occurs to her. Her first option should have been making her way to that Welcome Center to stay, but she had prioritized getting Tikki some food instinctively. Hopefully it'd help the kwami recover. ]

I'll ... probably be at this cafe for a little bit longer, but I really should have a look around soon too.

[ She'd totally doesn't think anyone from home is here either. She hesitates a moment to consider her topics, and finally settles on one. ]

So, I guess I'll be seeing you all around! If you've got any suggestions of places to take a look at, I'm open to ideas.

[ She needed to get her bearings in this place after all, especially with what's been going on. Once from the ground.. and then once from the air, when Tikki was recovered. Before ending her connection though, she grins and flashes a cheerful V'sign. Peace Out? ... so lame, Marinette. ]

Yeah ... though that kind of thing is sort of easier said than done. Doubly hard now since the ..the kedan? Don't seem to trust us, but for a few.

If you think about it--everything is easier said than done, but sometimes the harder things are, the more rewarding when you accomplish them.

[ A soft sigh. ]

Yeah, that doesn't help, but I've been in this kind of situation before. Earning trust back can be hard--but it can be done.

Yeah,... my parents say something like that all the time, too. [ Not the exact wording but close enough. She pauses at the sigh though. ]

You have...? Can ... do you mind if I ask what happened?

[ She's quick to wave her hands in a dismissive manner, in case she offended. ]

You don't have to say if it's too personal, of course..! I was just ...curious.

[ Sheena chuckles. ]

Let me guess, the first time they said it, you asked what they meant, and you were told "you'll see"?

[ You know, because experience is always a better teacher. ]

Oh. No, I don't mind. [ Doesn't mean she's not a little hesitant. Maybe gloss over details? ] When I was seven, a lot of people were fatally injured because of me--including my Grandpa. He went into a coma.

Because of that, I was mostly ignored in my village until about five years ago.

[ She may not be giving details really, but it's still a longish story. ]

[ She nods with an exasperated sigh. PARENTS. ]

Especially when I'm trying to put together fabric on a particularly complicated design. Sometimes I just get frustrated.

[ She was silent for a long moment at that, frowning worriedly. ]

Is your grandfather...erm... still in a coma...?

[ Ironically, she'll realize they had been right all along--much to her chagrin. ]

I can understand that. There were times when I couldn't get a move that my Grandpa taught me, but you know what? Just when I was about to give up and stopped trying so hard...that's when I would get it.

[ Smiling, Sheena shakes her head. ]

No. Turns out his spirit was still where he had fallen into his coma--and had been for twelve years. I don't think he was trapped by the Elemental Spirit there, but he stayed there himself, looking for me and making sure I was protected. [ She sighs in exasperation. ] When I and my friends got there, he was acting like it was fun to be able to float around. I had to tell him to get back to his body.

Yeah, that's happened to me as well. Sometimes you have to take a step back and look at it from another angle, or new set of eyes.

[ A pause. ]

So he was like... a ghost without being dead?

Yeah. Don't you just hate that?

[ Sheena may be in her 20s, but she's still young enough to understand and gives the younger woman a matching smile.

After a moment's thought, she nods. ]

That's one way of putting it. His determination to make sure I was safe caused his spirit to leave his body and remain in Volt's Temple.

[ She's actually embarrassed by the caring and love this shows. ]

Not at all! It's just life's way of saying you should slow down and take a step back for a moment. Or something like that. ... Okay yeah, i could do without the frustration that comes with it, but the relief and sense of accomplishment when you get it right after coming back to it? I wouldn't give that up for anything.

[ Awww, grampy. ]

That's really sweet~! He must have cared for you a great deal to go that far.
