10 ❄ ( VIDEO ) forward dated July 13th, late
[ With people's powers restored a fair portion of the way, Jack retreated gratefully to his freezer to soak up as much of the frigid cold as he could and now has ventured out long enough to send this message, though it's obvious from the image to those who can see him why he'll be keeping it concise. While all the bruising brought to the surface from his warming spate due to the power reductions have faded, he still looks rather exhausted and uncomfortable despite an obvious effort at genuine cheer while he speaks. He also looks oddly damp; the frost which makes its home on his clothing and body melts almost as soon as he goes outside in the mid-July heat and there's a smattering of scrapes from the fight in the warehouse, though they appear minor and he seems hardly to notice them at all. ]
That's it, I'm officially conceding the match: this summer crap wins. Every time I go outside I feel like I'm the Spirit of Soon-To-Be-Swimming-Pool rather than the Spirit of Winter. Enjoy your beach weather, don't forget the sunscreen, don't swim too soon after eating, all that good jazz. You can leave me a message at the Stark Building in the Fire Sector if it's important, otherwise I'll see you all around November.
[ With that stated, he drops his head down onto the desk in front of the console (giving the screen a close up of very white hair?) and groans loudly. ]

Sorry, but I can't do the deliveries anymore even in the mornings... both the Wind and I are just sapped in this heat. I can barely get off the ground right now let alone fly all over the city. There's a kedan guy about my age named Enthil, we've talked plenty of times and I showed him the whole route. He says he'll bring your supplies every week like I've been doing. I'm paying him for it so if he doesn't do a good job, let me know.
[ He remembers when Soranik was displeased that Jack hadn't organized a replacement for the Clinic's deliveries last time he wasn't able to do them, so he planned ahead! ]

I think we're going to have to put our meditation lessons on hold for a while. But I'll have plenty of time to keep practicing what I've learned so far!

If you change your mind about the magic hibernation spell, I won't object.

Do you need anything in particular? My waterbending's back, so if need anything, or everything, frozen I could do that.
[It was a naive, and temporary solution. Best she could come up with off the top of her head.]
What's at Stark's place?

[ Not really more like getting dead all over again. But hey, it's close enough. ]
A walk-in freezer with a bed, courtesy of Pepper.

That actually sounds kind of nice.
[Korra had been dying to change the thermostat back to below 40F, but had to keep it at "normal" levels so as not to disturb her temporary roommate.
With frostbite.]I've met Pepper, she's pretty nice. [Since she forgave being soaked with water for a few moments, of course.] Is there any way to get that freezer over to your suite so you can be at home?

[ There's an evident fondness in his tone when he speaks of her. ]
Something like that might be in the works but I don't... you know, if it doesn't work out, I don't want to let everyone down.
no subject
Well I hope you got some good people on it. I don’t know if you met the other Tony, but he’s really good with machines. [Actually, Korra couldn’t put it into words and she did kind of promise she wouldn’t mention the armor he had in his body.] Maybe two big thinkers would be better than one. [Both Starks seemed like a brain trust that could work anything if they really wanted to.]
Does it seem kind of ironic that you’re going to the Fire Sector to cool down, or is it just me?
no subject
Oh, just a little bit.
no subject
Drop my name and you’ll get a free pass. [Jokingly said with a wink. That wasn’t a guarantee, but she felt it couldn’t hurt. She tries to think of anyone else she knew that was ridiculously tech savvy and purses her lips, tapping them with her finger methodically.] There’s also Leo Valdez and Justin Hammer.
[A beat.]
Yeah, those are the only smart guys I know who could help.
…
Grand total of three, wow.
[Yes, Korra just suggested Tony Stark and Justin Hammer.]
no subject
I know both Leo and Justin, so I could do that. Bruce Banner is also really smart, he's been teaching me some things.
[ a considering pause before he clarifies: ]
Not teaching me smart things, but meditating things.
no subject
[Korra hadn't met him yet and that was the only fashion in which she knew him. She follows with a curious look.] Had no idea about the meditation thing.
[She saved that little nugget of information for later.]
Umm, if you want company at the "freezer" I can bring some books Bean lent me? I don't mind the cold. [The question was said tentatively and her cheeks felt a bit warm.] Not like my English couldn't use the practice.
[She had been slacking off on that in the past few weeks she spent on the field mission from Evandau.]
no subject
I wouldn't mind the company at all. [ far from it, in fact ]
no subject
Okay! [Korra's lips withdraw when she realizes how quickly she answered and that eagerness is muffled in her next words.]
Anything else I should bring?
no subject
That should be good. I'm sure we can raid the kitchen or something during study break.
no subject
I just so happen to be an expert in kitchen assault. [Having a four year old in a large compound that could easily get to the stored snacks was probably a nightmare for the White Lotus.]

I’ll head over there tomorrow then. [And after she’s had a chance to talk to Soranik about the full state of Jack’s health.] I’ll make sure to be time.
[Even though they never even agreed on a time. Or much of anything else. Which didn’t matter to her, she was clearly happy about this.]

[Her face lights up and she waves before she hurriedly zooms away from the console, completely forgetting to disconnect and turn it off.]
