[A few days after this conversation took place, Zatanna chose to make a rare public appearance on the radio network. She would have used the public consoles, if the subject wasn't too delicate for certain ears:]

Okay, so...I have an idea.

[~~Fair warning, at this moment, it was a fairly terrible plan. And almost certainly won't work. Unless it does~~.]

Remember that Vision we all had a couple of days ago? [Rhetorical question. Of course they did.] Well, it got me thinking. What if Tu Vishan really is still alive, only...trapped? Buried within his own mind so deep that he wasn't able to reach out to us until we went looking for him.

So let's look. Magically, I mean.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that...if you have any magical abilities whatsoever, would you be down to try something with me? It's not too dangerous. Probably.

[She wasn't familiar with the voice. Had no idea if he was playing down his abilities, simply being modest for modesty's sake, or if he genuinely wasn't sure if that was all he could offer.]

Power is good. We like power.

The more power we can throw into the spell, the better chance we have of it succeeding.

[ ... He's assuming there's a joke to that first bit. Probably the phrasing, otherwise he's going to be worried about her. ]

... I've never attempted to measure the output... [ ... Never really had a need to, because most of the time he used Dein Nomos to dispel magic, not gather it up.

[It was a half-joke, but not serious in the way he might have been thinking. She liked power, yes, when she needed it. When it was important. For both safety reasons and to better guarantee success.]

Lowell...who's that, again? [The name sounded vaguely familiar.]

Yuri Lowell. [ He already said part of his name, so why not the rest. ]

Dark hair, dark clothing, tends to be sarcastic, but also protective.

[The could've described a few people she'd met over the last several years. Though a more recent conversation did come to mind.]

Oh, wait. Yeah, I think I know him.

He was one of the people who had his soul gem messed with too, right?

[ Ah, so he should have described him as 'an ass', it might have helped. Oh well- ]

I remember him saying something like that.

How's he doing?

I can speak from personal experience when I say that some of the effects...haven't completely gone away yet. And his were a bit different than mine.

He is still providing unnecessary commentary, so I assume it isn't bothering him greatly.

[ He pauses for a moment, before adding: ] I am not the best to ask on this. He and I do not often talk.

We don't, either. Technically. We just had the one conversation before.

But if he wants in, he can have it. The more, the merrier.

[ ... He has nothing vaguely polite to say about Yuri and conversations. So just a hum, he heard that, he just... doesn't have anything to say... ]

If he doesn't, I'll see about borrowing his sword for this. Someone else would be able to direct it.

[Ah. They sounded close. She could absolutely tell. No question.]

Are you sure that's safe? [Relationship jokes aside, she raised a curious eyebrow.] I mean, not that I'd be willing to turn down the extra help, but...it's not worth it if whoever ends up with a magic artifact specific to your world can't wield it properly.

... The use of 'his sword' complicates things. It is actually mine, but I retrieved it after what he last remembers. I gave directions to him, I can do so for another. [ It's also not actually his, he stole it a decade prior, but he actually knows how to use the thing. ]

Although yes, a test to see if another could make use of it would be needed...

...might be the best option.

[She wasn't going to volunteer herself, of course; if she was going to be the central focus of the group circle, she couldn't worry about trying to control another person's artifact on top of everything else.]

I would maybe want to work that out before we all get together in a day or so. What do you think?

Not particularly. But it is good to know.

Unfortunately, most of this...we won't actually know if it works until we try it. It's a legitimate spell where I come from, but there are so many different worlds with so many different rules on how magic works.

[ He's silent for a moment longer. ]

... I haven't tested that either. I know how to direct the gathered power into a spell of the same sort of magic, and I am fairly certain it is 'directed power', rather than aligned with anything in particular.

[Of the same sort of magic. That was the deciding factor, wasn't it? Whether or not hers counted as the same sort.]

You think you might be able to direct some of that my way? I promise to put it to good use if you do.

... [ A heavy sigh and the sound of him rubbing at his head. ]

That's what I was offering the whole time? Unless that humor.

[Mental note: said humor didn't always earn the reactions she was hoping for.]

[Yes and no. She'd mentioned it a couple of times over the radio, but since she hadn't directed him, specifically, it was understandable how he wouldn't have had a chance to overhear those conversations.]
