[Padmé has seen some things in her life, but never before has she thought that she'd been stopped by machinery. These strange consoles have given her the hardest time and she only wishes to find out if anyone she knows is here. How she longs for the ease of the holos back home. But she does finally get the contraption to work and she smooths the lines around her eyes and face before setting to contacting the other people.]

Greetings, fellow Foreigners. My name is Senator Padmé Amidala. I am aware that the Welcome Center exists and I have been thoroughly educated about my current situation. [And if she could sound any more displeased about it, she would yell. But, proper decorum won't allow her to do so. Not when these people she's addressing aren't responsible. Or she's not pleading a case on the Senate floor.] Some of this sounds fantastical at best, but I won't sit here and beleaguer you all with how unpleasant I find this whole ordeal. I'm sure that it's been covered by many others by now.

There are only two things I wish to know that I think you all might be able to help me with. Do the names Bail Organa, Anakin Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi sound familiar to anyone? If they do, please contact me.

The second is has anyone seen my protocol droid? He would appear to be a man of golden metal and responds to the name of C-3P0.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

[Well, she has her answers about Obi-Wan. He's glad she has someone important to her here. That's good. But the other thing, THAT sparks his interest.]

A droid? So, is he like a robot? Or...is there a difference? I'm afraid I've never met one before to know.

[Of course a young man is more interested in the droids now that she's been answered about her companions from home. His interest is vaguely familiar to a certain boy's first introduction to an astromech droid in her acquaintance.]

I'm not sure what a robot is, but droids can come in many spaces and sizes. They are programmed with AI for certain purposes, such as translators or repair droids.

[Or fighting droids, like the Separatists favor so highly.]

[Even the most perfect teenage boys end up falling into the same teenage boy trap, it seems. ]

Hmm, yeah, that sounds like a robot. That's really cool.

[Oh but... ]

There's one shaped like a dog here? His name's Bladewolf, though, so probably not the droid you're looking for.

She files away the new word, along with just about everything else she's learned that day. Later, she'll take it all out and examine it so she doesn't go insane. She'll take his word on the whole robot thing.]

Shaped like a dog? Is it a pet? I've heard there are many different models like that for sale on Coruscant.

I don't think he is? I mean, he thinks for himself and everything. I think he's just his own thing.

So, he's equipped with a fully functional, learning AI. Fascinating. Although, I suppose that rules out being a sort of pet. But surely he has some sort of person responsible for him. Or is he left on his own?

I think he's on his own? He didn't mention having someone watching over him, anyway.

Is he native to this world? The technology here is passable, but it doesn't seem ready for a self-sufficient droid.

I'm not sure. I guess he's been brought here just the same as the rest of us.

I would like to meet him in any case. Though I am not an engineer, I still find the technology behind them interesting. I'm sure that one of my friends will definitely find him fascinating.

I'm sure you'll find him around. You have to admit, a robot dog stands out from the crowd.

I can easily admit that a mechanical dog would stand out from a group of humanoids, yes. Especially since I am now armed with his name.
