(She stares into the device to make sure it's recording. Her expression turns from something kind of serious and deep in thought to one of relief. "Oh good. Not much different than that other place..." Marie then tries to smile, of course she looks a bit more concerned than anything else.)
Uh, uh...hi. I'm Marie. Um...let's see here... I think I'm good with what's going on. I mean, I get it. At least, I have a map...and I've been without a lot less before... it's a long story...
(Marie finds herself beginning to ramble - to the outsider it sounded like some "adventure" or a not very thought out plan she had when shew was younger, but she quickly stops herself. It's definitely better to not get so personal, not yet anyway. She glances down for a moment.)
Ah, uh..right. I'll just shut up now about that. It's not very interesting.
(Then she pauses.)
Um, by the way...has anyone seen....
(She lets her thought trail off and she debates in the middle of her question about asking if someone else might be wandering around. Only slightly taller than her (and she's a tall girl herself), square headed, overly serious looking... potentially over his head in trouble within moments of setting foot in a place?)
She woke up alone now that she gives everything some more thought and then she glances at the ring on her hand. )
Um, well, uh...it's not that important. So, um, I'll be here for a little while....

[The boy on the screen was tiny, no more than three feet tall. From his appearance he couldn't have been any older than seven. But his tone was rather grumpy. After the last few days he didn't have much patience left. ]
Re: video
Well, he's not wrong about that.")
...There is something I do want to know, yes. (A slight playful scoff, she might be teasing him with that especially once she is aware of his tone.) I know it helps to ask, but I'm not sure how much good asking about a missing...um, maybe not missing...but a person who may or may not be here might be.
(Marie might be letting her worry show - just a little bit, anyway - now. The idea of being alone like this - even with all the help and information she's been given off the bat is unsettling. This wasn't being sent away, this was different.)
Re: video
Re: video
(She nods.)
Uh, yeah. He's...177 or 78 centimeters. Square-ish looking head, I think that's because he has a military-like hair cut. He's good at blending in, though... but if you talk to him he doesn't say much and is usually overly serious.
(These sound like bad things on paper they might be to most, but her tone is overly fond.)

but beardless.]Are you looking for someone? People from the same universe show up pretty often, so they might be here.

(Hello, friend...um, other version of past friend...)
Uh, maybe your right.. But, I lack his skills in finding other people and I'm apparently good at hiding...
(Waaaaaaiiiiiit a minute.
The German woman has to do a double take and then the truth hits her like a lightning bolt and if Marie had been drinking something - here is the moment she would have probably spit it at the screen.
She looks a bit surprised.)
...Tony, is that you? (She looks relieved and even slightly amused.) You have such a babyface without the beard.
(The woman realizes that he didn't use her name.)
...Also you forgot about me, didn't you? Don't tell me you forgot about me. It's Marie?
no subject
Oh. Um, yeah. Tony Stark. I... don't think I know you, though. [Apologetic smile.] You probably know another version of me. I hear there's a lot of me running around the multiverse.
[His smile turns wry and he rubs his face.] Again with the beard, huh?
[Sheesh. It had vanished as suddenly as it had appeared when the wacky age-changing magic had subsided, but he's considering growing it back for real just so people will stop commenting on it.]

Oh, I'm Pepper, by the way.

I mean, they say that things have a way of working out, right? (She wants to believe that, but she doesn't feel so sure about it right now. And then she realizes that Pepper asked if she wanted company.
"Be careful, Marie. Careful."
But, it had been ages since she could have tea with someone and right now? That sounds so nice. Maybe she could just meet and talk everything out and get to absorb it all? That would be okay?) But, yeah, I guess some company would be nice and, uh, you don't have to do that, really.
(Marie looks a little confused by that last question and the mention of tea.)
I, uh...yeah, tea does help sometimes. (Most of the time, if she is being honest with herself, but she's just feeling a bit guarded right now.)
Chocolate is good. I like strawberries too...
(She would inhale anything that looked good if it was sweet.)
no subject
Yeah, things usually work out. Here more than a lot of places, I think. A lot of people get second chances when they come to Keeliai. [She brightens some when Marie assents to company.] I don't have to, but I'd like to. Any excuse to have some chocolate. I can come meet you and show you one of my favorite cafes, if that's all right. Are you still at the Welcome Center?

well block/clock was a silly typo pfft
Oops.
ehehehe
Well, I'm making more than enough of these typos lately.
it okay we all do it
video;
I've seen a great variety of things, my dear. You may care to be more specific.
Did you intend to just hem and haw at the world, or was there something more?
Re: video;
(She tries to chuckle.)
Hem and haw? I think you're the first person I've heard in years actually use that.
(Marie then raises an eyebrow. She wasn't trying to sound like she was doing that on purpose, but there's just so much to let sink in.)
I wasn't intending on that... just got kind of separated from someone, not really sure what the best thing I can do is right now. He'd probably just want me to just take care of myself right now, but...I'm not him and I'm going to worry since he's not so good on his own sometimes.
video;
[China is somehow not surprised that it's a man.]
Twenty-first century, or late twentieth?
[She hums a light, thoughtful note, and deigns to offer advice.]
The best thing you can do, my dear, is to take care of yourself. Your man is either in your world, in which case you can't reach him, or here, in which case you have now sufficiently advertised your presence. Right now there's nothing you can do for him.

Are you sure? Some of us might be able to help, if you're looking for something.
Re: Video
(She looked at her ring not because it was magic, but it was a reminder that whatever this ended up being was actually happening to her. If Marie had known that his interest was in something like that, she would have felt a little bit badly about that not being the case.)
I'm sure if he's here, we'll meet up eventually. Well, if not, something has to work out, I suppose...

[He offers her a reassuring smile. ]
I hope you find him, if not it's pretty easy to get close to people here. What does he look like? Does he have a name? I can tell you if I've ever run into him.

Re: [Video]
Yeah, I am. (She pauses and takes a moment to think of a good enough description, though she knows that it will end up not being quite good enough.) Let me think...he's about 177 or 78 centimeters tall, I never really stood and measured. Military-like hair cut, he always wears a wristwatch. If you talk to him he doesn't say much and is usually overly serious.
(But when it comes to giving out a name? That is where Marie gets a little uncomfortable. There were a lot of reasons that wasn't normally a good idea. She seems to debate about this before deciding to just go with the one she is used to.) His name? Uh, Jason...
I will look for Jason. But if he is here, I am sure he will find you quickly. What is a wristwatch? Is it an eye on his wrist?
[Because that sounds fairly distinctive, but she can't be sure. People have all sorts of weird words they toss around.]
Re: [Video]
Re: [Video]
(Marie has to raise an eyebrow at that. Of course, it's really nothing personal - it had just a habit for her to be a bit wary when it came to questions, but what could anyone do to her from her own world if she at least spoke of it in general terms?
It was becoming obvious that she wasn't going to run into anyone from there, at least not where they were in position to do anything about it.
She would have to withhold a couple of details but because they weren't for her to mention or discuss. She only even knew because that person trusted her so deeply and she would do nothing to tarnish that, but she supposes that speaking some about it shouldn't cause much of an issue.
She seems to think it over for a moment before nodding that she will.)
Well, I mean, I could tell it. But, if I tell the entire thing than it will take some time. I suppose I should ask what you want to know first then.
I have time. [And a keen ear for good stories.] Everything, truly. Your clothing intrigues me; it's not like anything I have seen in the East.

Hey, we've all got stories, and I know they're all pretty interesting. Who're you looking for?
no subject
Mine are just ones of a younger, more foolish me. It's not that interesting, really. (A pause before she answers.) ...I'm looking for my boyfriend. I guess we got separated again.
(This seems to be a trend.)
