(She stares into the device to make sure it's recording. Her expression turns from something kind of serious and deep in thought to one of relief. "Oh good. Not much different than that other place..." Marie then tries to smile, of course she looks a bit more concerned than anything else.)
Uh, uh...hi. I'm Marie. Um...let's see here... I think I'm good with what's going on. I mean, I get it. At least, I have a map...and I've been without a lot less before... it's a long story...
(Marie finds herself beginning to ramble - to the outsider it sounded like some "adventure" or a not very thought out plan she had when shew was younger, but she quickly stops herself. It's definitely better to not get so personal, not yet anyway. She glances down for a moment.)
Ah, uh..right. I'll just shut up now about that. It's not very interesting.
(Then she pauses.)
Um, by the way...has anyone seen....
(She lets her thought trail off and she debates in the middle of her question about asking if someone else might be wandering around. Only slightly taller than her (and she's a tall girl herself), square headed, overly serious looking... potentially over his head in trouble within moments of setting foot in a place?)
She woke up alone now that she gives everything some more thought and then she glances at the ring on her hand. )
Um, well, uh...it's not that important. So, um, I'll be here for a little while....

[He can't help but be super polite, but it's honest, too. At least they'd know who they were looking for. ]
Hmm, it could be either way. It's a big city.
Well, a good idea is to get a place to live. The Midnight Hotel is a pretty great place to start. Klaus runs it, and I'm sure you can get a room there.

(She can't help but chuckle somewhat. Most of the time, at least lately, she was reminded that being vague was better. Of course, looking for a "missing" person probably required a different level of detail compared to creating a fake life.)
Yeah, this place seems to be big...
(She had given the map a thorough looking over when she got it.)
...The Midnight Hotel?
(Marie nods at the idea. It was as good idea as anything could be in this moment. Besides, she wasn't at all unused to the idea.)
I'll have to take a look and ask. I'm a bit desperate for a place to stay right now.

[He smiles, polite and reserved. ]
They almost always have rooms. They do really great food there, too. Everything you need to get started.

(Marie blushes slightly at being referred to Madame. She wasn't too used to formalities.)
That's a relief. (Meaning both things she is just told about the hotel.) That means there are two problems solved right there.

[He understands that, too. But his is necessity, rather than actual desire. ]
Yeah, it was where I went to when I first arrived. It's great for getting yourself on your feet, you know? And when you're settled, the housing is free in the Sky sector for Foreigners- uh, that's what they call us.

(Marie listens then nods.)
Sky sector? (She makes a little mental note of that.) Foreigners? I suppose that would make sense. We're not from this world and all.
no subject
That's one of the sectors that make up the city. They all specialise in different things. Sky sector is all about galleries, gardens and museums. It's all really calming.
[He gives a soft laugh. ]
I know, right? I think it's got a nice ring to it.

(Marie knows that to some extent she does as well. Of course sometimes it ends up being better to do the opposite and she had really begun over time to hate having to hold certain things back.)
Oh. (She smiles a little.) It sounds nice. Very nice. The sector, I mean. The other thing? I'll be easy to remember and it's not a lie. It sounds a little like a club...
