[Someone's really happy. The kind that just shows, even if you try to hide it. Not that she's trying very hard to hide it. It's not related to her message today, although it matches well with the excitement that follows.]

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I used this thing, but a lot's happened since then. And one of those things is-- I finally have some work space for myself. So. I'd like to start putting it to some good use. That's where I'm hoping you all come in.

[Marinette is treating this as something of an interest check..]

I mentioned it before in passing, but I love sewing. Well, designing specifically. Clothes, accessories-- you name it. Whether it's recreating an old favorite or making something new a stylish, I want to offer my services to anyone interested.

And since my portfolio didn't exactly come with me, the first three people to submit a request can have them free of charge. I hope that once everyone sees what I can do, they'll be happy to trust me with their orders. It can be as specific or as vague as you want with them, but the more specific you get, the more information I'm going to need.

[...is that it? She thinks she covered everything she can think of. Well. Better make sure, just to be safe.]

[Midii was...actually somewhat amused by the declaration, because she'd shared a similar conversation with a certain someone in the past. About sewing, that was.]

Maybe you should teach Adrien. He told me he didn't know how.

[Teach? Sure. Adrien? Her smile goes a little wobbly and she laughs. Because she's so good at doing anything when Adrien is involved... not. Love. It's complicated. Or... no. No it's really not. She just has a terrible time concentrating around him and not falling apart.]

Me? Teach Adrien? I'd probably have more holes in my fingers than the fabric--

[--is what she mutters sheepishly, more to herself than anything.]

I mean... I didn't know he had any interest in that sort of thing. Not that I'd mind, I've just never taught anyone before.

[Midii liked to consider herself a fairly observant person, but it didn't take much to notice Marinette's reaction. She smiled to herself, but kept that smile subdued enough so it wouldn't betray any of her internal thoughts.]

He did when we talked about it before. [Just saying.] Then again, we weren't really talking about fashion., so it might be different than what you're thinking.

[The only thing she knew about clothes were how to make them last.]

But I'm sure he'd much rather you teach him than me.

[Unfortunately, even (or rather, especially...) when she's trying-- subtle just isn't something Marinette does well.]

Oh. Wow... I had no idea. Well, I mean-- he's complimented my work before but I thought that was just him being nice. Still... it's true it's a good skill to have.

[At that last bit she flusters again, although her laugh is a little bit softer this time.]

I don't know about that. I'm still not sure I'm really teaching material.

[Well, he could have been doing that, too. He did seem like a nice guy; she wouldn't have been surprised if he was paying more attention to the person making the clothes than the clothes themselves.]

You can always try.

You two are friends, right? It's...usually easier to work with someone when you know them.

[What were they, exactly? It was still complicated. But friends. Yeah. Friends was safe.]

Oh, uh-- yeah. We're in the same class. I don't see why not.

[Okay, time to try and steer this conversation to safer waters.]

So... you know how to sew yourself?

[She nodded.]

I know the basics.

Between me, the twins, and the baby...somebody had to mend all our clothes back home. [Mostly the twins] So I learned.

[Ah, so it was like that. Marinette smiled.]

Did you ever think about learning to make things? Clothes can be complicated to start with, but there are a lot of other things you could make-- dolls, accessories... things like that.

[Loving what she did, it was hard not to get excited to have a chance to talk about it.]

[Much as she appreciated the enthusiasm...]

Why would I want to make dolls?

Oh-- oh! I didn't mean to insinuate... it's just that they're easier to start with. [...] Not that there's anything wrong with liking them, either.

[Marinette, please.]

I have a set back home, actually. Of the superheroes of our world and the people they've saved. They're... kind of like commemorative items for me. Although-- they also turned out to be a bit hit with the girl I babysit sometimes.

[And now she's rambling. Get back on topic--]

A-anyway. I suppose things like wallets, hats, gloves and purses might be just as easy of a place to start.

[No offense was taken; it was just...when you grow up in a house of boys, especially when you become the primary bread winner before you hit puberty...there were some childhood memorabilia that took a backseat.]

[Also, she was kind of a tomboy personality, anyway.]

...hats could be useful. And the gloves. The winters in this world were never too bad, but you never know.

[Practicality.]

[Practicality. Nothing wrong with that.]

Hats are good for harsh sunlight and lots of wind too. Some fabrics make nice scarves too.

Oh, scarves, I know how to make. Sort of.

[It was a simple enough pattern for her to practice.]

I've just never made a hat before. I wouldn't know where to start.

I could show you. I've made all kinds of hats-- Gabriel Agreste even picked one of my hand-sewn designs for one of his photoshoots. Once you understand the basics, it's a piece of cake.

[It's hard not to brag a little about something that made her so happy. But she's rambling again-- time to put things back on track.]

...well, I'm still not sure how good of a teacher I'd be... but if you want, I can try.

[For being so uncertain, she still seems pretty excited about the opportunity.]

[Lucky for her, Midii could be easy enough to please.]

If you know how to make it properly, then that's good enough for me.

I'll learn by watching you.

[Something Marinette is immensely grateful for.]

That much I can do. [She beams.] I have a whole room to myself for sewing, so you can stop by whenever you have a chance.

[She nodded in appreciation over the offer.]

I usually work during the day, but only when one of the shop owners has an errand for me. If not...then I suppose I could come over then.

You must have a pretty big space if you can devote an entire room to sewing.

It's actually a new addition-- we just moved a little while ago. I feel a little spoiled, actually.

[It's quite a change from her days of living on the couch.]

[Midii gave a faint smile at that, nodding her agreement of the sentiment.]

I...know the feeling.

[Once upon a time, any place with a soft bed and access to food felt like being spoiled. But she had gotten used to being spoiled, and now...was spoiling herself even more.]

I just moved into a new place last month. It's...smaller than the room I was staying at in the Hotel, but I also have it all to myself.

[And she would gladly sacrifice a couple dozen square feet for privacy. A luxury she could literally now afford.]
