[CONSOLE | VIDEO] 001
Helloooo, residents of Keeliai!
[Here's a new face -- and someone who doesn't really seem bothered by the news that he's not in his own world. He's smiling, perfectly relaxed, like he does this all the time. He doesn't look at all like someone just had to explain to him how one console connects to every other console in the city, plus a whole bunch of smaller communicators. Man, the wonders of magitechnology.]
I'm sure you hear this all the time, but your women are beautiful. Don't worry, I got the hint, they're off-limits, but I mean it. All you lovely ladies out there, you're gorgeous. It's amazing you have a way for me to be able to tell everyone that at once, this... whatever this is. Seriously.
[His smile brightens, giving the impression he really means it, and then he waves a hand.]
Oh yeah, and it looks like I'm not the only Foreigner here. Anyone want to show me the ropes? The kedan are great, but there's only so much you can get out of them. Apparently -- [And here's the first instance of Zelos looking less than comfortable.] -- we're on the back of a giant turtle.

You are quite open with your compliments
no subject
[... Oh. Huh. Kedan, or Foreigner? She doesn't look human, but she doesn't really look like any of the kedan Zelos has met either.
She is acting like his compliments were directed at her, so Zelos is going with that.]
I can compliment you again, if you'd like. It's my specialty. I can compliment you as many times as you want me to.
no subject
However, please do not interpret that as a lack of appreciation. I am certain there are many who will welcome one who is as complimentary as yourself. It is a great asset when making new acquaintances, particularly in a world where collaboration and other types of social interactions are common.
no subject
You're right. There are a lot of people who would give anything to be complimented by me -- at least back where I come from. [Now the smile's gone.] If you don't mind me asking --
[A brief pause while Zelos searches for polite phrasing.]
-- what are you?
[...And fails, but at least manages to avoid sounding insulting in the process.]
no subject
I do not mind at all.
[It was always preferable when people questioned her directly, rather than make faulty assumptions.]
I am Aya. A Living Intelligence constructed of both organic and inorganic materials.
no subject
[Exactly like Tabatha. Probably not made for the same reasons, though. Tabatha's all beauty and elegance; Aya's more streamlined, probably a lot more practical in a fight.]
Do you serve the kedan, or are you a Foreigner?
no subject
Both, actually.
[From her perspective, the two were not necessarily mutually exclusive--although she might have been thinking of a different kind of 'service' than he. For her, it did not mean exclusively. She served every individual she aided. It was why she became a Green Lantern.]
no subject
[Because thus far, all Zelos has seen are kedan who think the Foreigners don't care about them. Far be it from him to believe stereotypes about minority groups anymore, but it's still refreshing to hear someone considers helping out to be part of their job description.]
no subject
[Her words were notably carefully chosen, as if she were afraid of causing offense by inferring any selfish notions.]
no subject
no subject
Yes. It is.
And I did not want to convey a sense of selfishness in making such a declaration. I am a Green Lantern. [No matter what most of the Guardians thought of her.] It is my duty to aid those who need it most. If the kedan require my continued assistance, then personal connections should not take precedence over that.
no subject
And nobody back in your own world needs you? Really? [A short sigh.] It looks like Foreigners are just going to keep arriving here no matter what, so it's not like the kedan would be short of help. Besides, just wanting to go home doesn't mean you will, so --
[Zelos leans forward with a smile.]
-- cheer up. A pretty Living Intelligence like you shouldn't look so serious, know what I mean?
no subject
[She wasn't completely selfless. Just convinced this was her ongoing mission, and one that needed to be seen through its entirety.]
...how should I look? [She glanced up at him, curious but also slightly wary. Her physical appearance had been a cause of animosity in the past, but only with good reason on Razer's part. This was another matter entirely.]
no subject
You're kidding, right? You should look happy. You know, smiling. Laughing, maybe. You should look like you're happy with the decision you made. 'Cause in the end, you're the one who has to live with it.
[And Zelos has way too much experience with that.]
no subject
I will look happy when I am feeling the emotion.
Perhaps I am merely a robot to many, but my feelings are real, and I express them as honestly as I have learned to throughout my life.
no subject
[... okay, something's telling him that didn't go over too well. Zelos lifts his hands briefly in a gesture of surrender, despite the surprise on his face.]
Sure, except you're not. If you were, you'd have no problem saying you want to go back home.
no subject
I am here to fulfill my mission. Until such time when it is deemed appropriate for me to return, I am satisfied with my situation.
no subject
[Oh, fine. He's not sure he cares enough to keep trying; he learned a very long time ago not to spend energy trying to get a woman to change her mind when she's already made it up. Aya's a living doll, but she's more human than Tabatha is. Maybe being miserable is part of that.]
You don't care who decides when you get to go home, or do you know something I don't?
no subject
I am certain there are many things I know that you do not.
However, most are of no importance to this conversation. I will be sent home by the same forces that brought me here. Some call it magic, but I prefer to think of it as an advanced science as of yet undefined by mathematical terms.
no subject
[A brief moment of confusion, but Zelos bypasses it for the more salient argument.]
Where I come from, there was a half -- a person who could do that, send things back and forth between two worlds. And he was evil. Okay, maybe not evil, but he wanted to take the hearts and memories of every living thing, so same difference. People assumed things were like that for a good reason, so no one questioned it.
[A brief pause.]
If you think it was some force of nature that brought you here, fine. Forces can't think. But whatever's controlling those forces can. Are you really okay with letting them define when you... when your mission is up?
no subject
[She wasn't being stubb--okay, yeah, she absolutely was. But magic was one of those abstract concepts that, even after all this time, she accepted existed but still held firmly to the notion that it could be explained in some scientific manner as of yet undiscovered.]
Yes. I am fine with their decision. Whenever it may be.
[More or less.]
no subject
Okay then. If that ever changes, let me know.
[It's not a serious invitation, but he would be curious.]
