[There's an almost lazy arrogance in Sep's posture as he regards the camera, and a small smile on his handsome face. He seems incredibly pleased with himself--and he is. After a moment in which he clearly considers what to say, he lets out a quick, amused breath. His smile softens a little.]
For any new arrivals, and those I haven't met, I'm Sep. I didn't want to speak before I was certain I could deliver. Now I am.
I'm a healer. [The pause shows a brief flicker of distaste on his face, before settling into something more serious. He hates the word he's about to use.] Functionally speaking, I draw on the... magic in water. As such, at home we generally work with patients in a tub of water. For some, the more powerful can work without, but it's not our preference.
As far as specialty, I'm most familiar with injuries, any kind that needs attention. By my people's standards I am more skilled than most. [He frowns briefly.] Serious illness generally takes longer, and is more exhausting. And with injuries, there are limits. With any luck we won't have to face anything truly serious.
I know some people won't be quite as comfortable with healing by [almost invisible pause] magic as my people are. For us, it's as everyday as breathing. Obviously I'll respect your boundaries, whatever they are, though I hope you'll take the professional's advice.
[Faint amusement glitters in his bright green eyes.] I'll be working out of my suite in WA-3A. [It's just more convenient.] Come by whenever you need to, especially for emergencies.

I feel I should also offer up my own skills to help should you require them. Back in my world I have worked with a healer to sustain the spirits of the injured while they receive healing; though its usually only required if the person is mortally wounded. I also know how to make some poultices and can use a little healing magic myself. [He pauses and then flushes slightly.] Not that I mean to undermine you or suggest you need my help, of course.
video;
No. No, the... sustaining someone so close to death might be very helpful. I hope we'd never have to [only a faint tightening of his eyes, barely noticeable, shows how ill the thought makes him] but if it gives me time to work, we might well save lives.
We should definitely talk--I'm sure there's a lot we could teach each other. [Even if--arrogantly or not--he suspects the teaching will in greater part be his. In his mind he can hear his father's voice: 'Children.' And Sep knows it would be about himself as much as Tris.] Especially in case the two ways of healing might interfere with each other.
video;
[Tris pauses and digests those last few words. Without Sisterhood presence here in the city, he had not been able to learn anything new, only to work on what he had been taught before waking here. Refining his skills and gaining the knowledge and new skills he needed to defeat his brother and Arontala were two different things. This man might not be from his world, but perhaps he could teach him things that those back home could not.
It hadn't occurred to him that using his magic together with that of a person from a world not his own might cause disruptions. He may not even be able to successfully hold a person's spirit here (at all if his connection to spirits has been severed completely - though he doubts that as he can sense them, just can't reach out to the Plane) if someone is working a foreign form of magic.] Of course. Perhaps I could also attempt a simple soul binding on someone not so injured, to ensure that our magics can work together.
video;
And despite his belief in the boy's inexperience and goodness, the word 'binding' does actually bother him a little. The closest to a spiritual binding he knows of--thus the first thing brought to mind--are either slave collars or controlling and (usually) suppressing dangerous great furies. Neither is something Septimus would dream of allowing done to any person.]
We'll see if it comes to that. I think we'll start with seeing what your strictly healing magic [hates that word] can do.
[Even the open, confident magic user is cautious about some things!]
video;
Still, at least he was becoming skilled at protecting souls. It was exhausting, but easy. It had taken Carina candlemarks to bring Jonmarc back, the hold time Tris had been protecting his life thread and lending it his own strength and magic...]
I'm afraid my skills in healing are limited minor injuries and nothing like broken bones or deep cuts. Surface wounds and headaches mostly. But it's better than nothing. If my friend was here, she would be able to help you far more but she-- [Is still at home. His face falls.]
video;
Septimus' expression softens, regret in his eyes. Truthfully, he knows how Tris feels with that: he's powerful, but he knows that in the end, at her full potential Isana is far more powerful and talented a healer than he is.
He wonders, a little, if she'll be able to teach their child her subtlety.]
I understand. I think we'll have more than enough information to exchange. [Translation: 'I'll have to teach the boy, won't I?']
video;
Still, thinking of Carina lead to thoughts about Kiara and, oh, how he missed her. His hand came up, unthinking, to brush over the pendant she had sent for his birthday.]
I'm sure. [Tris gives a small smile again there. His magic was little use for healing, but he was sure it couldn't hurt to try and learn some more here if he could.]
