[Katniss has a few healing cuts and scraps from Zombie Adventures, but she's clean and apparently recently showered, judging by the wet braid slung over one shoulder. She sits in her chair with her legs pulled up to her chest, ready to leap from it if she needs to. Her bow and quiver are visible in the background]

I want to hunt. Is there anywhere I can do that, or does this turtle have some kind of moral objection to things other than us being killed on its back?

[There's a long pause, and she almost reaches out to end the post before she remembers something] Animals. I want to hunt animals. Nothing else. That's all.

[ She's got a look in her eyes--wild. Untrusting. Something Cobb can relate to, though he hides it well. As he turns on the video feed, though, he's holding his top in a closed hand. ]

What else would you hunt other than animals?

[She clenches her fists, unclenches them. It doesn't seem like she's aware of doing it] Nothing. Not anymore.

[ Cobb is silent, but nods. If she wants to share it, she will. If not, he'll simply move on It still worries him, though--a little girl hunting more than animals. And maybe she doesn't look so little but Cobb can't help but draw the paralleled. ]

Do you cook?

What? [A beat] Yes. I mean, I can. I'm not a cook, or anything.

video;

[squint]

As long as that meat doesn't go to waste. I've never had to hunt. [ and kids shouldn't, in his opinion. ] Why the quiver? Why not a rifle?

I don't waste. Ever. And you've been lucky, then.

[Her jaw tightens] We weren't allowed weapons. [Bows are easier to construct than rifles] The kill is cleaner with arrows, anyway.

[squint]

[ Doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. What little assurance (and it really was little, thinking the most horrific thing the other could be was a child soldier), was slimmed the moment she said that the kill was cleaner.

No army used arrows over guns. Which meant--

--it meant something he couldn't even dream of watching Philippa or James do. So his face slackens somewhat, ]

...If you do find something, let me know. I'll gladly pay you, I don't know my way around a bow. [ He does a gun, but only on projections. ]

[Her eyes widen slightly. The offer brings back memories of - simpler times. Her jaw clenches, and she swallows] I'll let you know. [a beat] Thanks.

[She lifts a shoulder. It's ancient history, to her] War, weather shifts. A lot of it ended up under water. We're the only people left.

[She nods. There's a weird look on her face, a mix exhaustion and confusion and only the faintest hint of longing. She doesn't miss Panem, but she misses the security of District Twelve, of finally knowing the status quo again.]

'Panem' means something where I'm from. It means 'bread' in an old, dead language.

[Her expression twists a little] Of course it does.
