[This takes place after they've been in the warm waters for a bit.

This is the most excited, happy Jehan you have ever seen. Someone heard from a kedan about the water and he's ecstatic. He's from Cannes, from the shore. He's missed going to the beach, and now he gets to.

He's in R's suite, so you might hear the drunk bitching about an overly excited puppy of a poet, but Jehan does not care. He does not care at all.]

We, apparently, are now in the warmest waters the kedan have ever seen, and they are a wonderful, clear blue. Therefore, I am insisting that all of our friends join Grantaire, Bryn, and myself for a trip down to the edge for swimming. We will be leaving as soon as we've supplies for a full day at the edge. If you'd like to join us, please meet us in the Wood Sector.

[He grins and starts to shut off the feed before remembering something. He blushes]

Ah...with the reprieve we've been granted, it might quickly become...indecent for young children or particularly gentle women. Just...as a warning.

[The modifier on "women" is because of Bryn. Jehan shuts the feed off, yelling something off screen at R.]

((ooc: This is going in a separate log here in a second because there is going to be alcohol, smoking, and likely nakedness because men didn't have actual "swimsuits" until the 1840s and these guys predate that. So.))

[Not long after the feed is shut off, Grantaire is grabbing Jehan's ear in a chastising manner. They had only come back to get proper supplies, and how this? Grantaire could whack you, you silly young thing.]

Why in God's name are you inviting people? And Women? This was supposed to be fun and here you are making it into a damn social occasion.

[Jehan elbows the drunk]

First of all, the only woman I invited was Bryn, who you are regularly in bed with. Second of all, I am simply inviting the rest of our friends. We'd never hear the end of it if we didn't. Besides, you'll enjoy the company.

[And with an 'oof' he lets go of Jehan's ear and rubs his sore stomach. Right in the almost healed bruise, too.]

Eh, alright, but if we find ourselves harassed by the police because less than gentle women decide to show up, you're getting a swift kick in the ass. Particularly gentle women, where do you think we've been living, in a convent? Christ.

[And with a grumble he returns to his bottle and his bed. They can figure this out without him, he'll just make himself comfortable.]

Grantaire, we will be hours away from the police. I doubt they'll care enough to come chastise us for having fun just because we're swimming.

[He blushes a bit]

I specified because, as you know, Bryn is not one to be upset by men swimming, but she is still a woman. Now get up, ass.

[He responds at first with only a suck of his teeth and another clink of glass bottle to teeth as he sips again.] You may be right, given how lax this whole place has been, but the warning remains. Your ass is at risk of a beating, Prouvaire.

[As for that demand, well, Grantaire is going to ignore him and remain reclined on his bed.]

Oui, my mistress is one thing but you forget how rare particularly gentle women are on La Tortue. A blessing, to be sure, I've never much liked women afraid of their own ankles.

Oh, is that the only sort of women you dislike, Grantaire? Get up, or I shall drag you out by your ankles.

I dislike most sorts of women, almost as much as I love them. And if you come at my ankles I'll kick you, fiend.

[Another sip, as he curls up further up on the mattress.]

Oh, really now?

[Jehan stands, smirking, and goes right for the ankles.]

Shit! [He curses and kicks out at Jehan's hand, trying to scoot further up onto the mattress. It's the reaction one might have to being ticklish, and he is a bit, but that's beside the point. His wine splashes as he avoids Jehan's hands.] Look what you're doing, you're wasting perfectly good wine, when we have so damn little of it.

Then get off your ass and help, Grantaire!

[he lays back against the mattress, feet up and again ready to kick.] I will not. It seems that gravity has taken control of me, alas, I can't rise! You will simply have to continue on without me and my presence.

Enjolras may be coming.

[He has no idea if he is or not, but it might work]

I never said that I would not go with you, I simply cannot rise to give you my assistance in preparation. It seems the wine has gone to my brain! And also, I highly doubt Enjolras will show himself to frivolous entertainment.

And why wouldn't he? The revolt on the mainland failed, there is nothing to be done here, and Enjolras is a man. He surely enjoys the sun and sea as much as the rest of us.

Enjolras enjoys nothing but liberty and action. What we will be doing is distinctly a lack of action.

I still believe he will come. Now get up and help us!
