[Maybe it's Aisha's post that got to him. Maybe it's the clear signs everyone's on edge. But Asbel's looking pretty serious when he turns on the video.]

[He pauses, as if considering saying something else, before discarding the thought.]

[He does manage a bit of a smile.] I'm in WO-3C, but that's not going to have enough room. There's an open space not too far from there, though.

I think I know the one—I live in Wood as well. I can meet you at your convenience.

Alright. I need to...get some things first and I'll meet you there, it probably won't take me too long.

Do you have swords available?

[At this point, Robin is willing to learn anything that might give them an edge against It-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named.]

I was thinking of starting people without deadly weapons and ease into providing sharp things, actually.

[Which is to say, no, but he's fixing that once he works out where the weapons shop is. Give him like an hour to see how many he needs to get.]

That's no fun.

But sign me up anyway.

[He knows a little about swords. Mostly the different types, their country of origin, and the general timeframe during which they were used. He's nowhere near an actual swordmaster.]

I don't have that many medical supplies, fun will have to wait.

[Asbel was almost promoted to full knight before his life exploded, so at least you're in skilled hands.]

[Robin laughs, not that Asbel could tell.]

Which style do you use?

[It's not that she particularly needs to learn a new style involving a weapon. More that she's interested in knowing the range of styles being used by the foreigners.]

Ah, it's a sheathed sword style. I can channel eleth when my sword is drawn, but we'll have to see how well that part can be taught...

[Since eleth doesn't seem to be as common a thing. He'll figure something out.]

[She smiles slyly.]

I'm unfamiliar with both of the above. I'd love to see what you can do.

[Whether she wants to learn it or not is up for debate. She'll certainly practice a couple of times.]

You're welcome to watch. I need to pick up some practice blades...I wanted to see how many people were interested, first.

But after that we're meeting in a park in Wood Sector. I wouldn't mind people just watching.

And I might pick up a blade. I don't usually use a weapon, but it might be fun to try.

It's good to have a variety of ways to handle a situation, right?

Hey, when you say 'swordsmanship', do you mean like-- classical fencing?

[HE HAS A REMATCH TO WIN BACK HOME.]

Traditional fencing is closer to Richard's style, I think? I don't know what the standards are where you're from, though.

[He's not sure what you mean by 'classical', Jim.]

I actually have no idea. I'm nowhere near being an expert.

The basics are going to be pretty similar, though. If nothing else, you can come and see if you'd have any use for the style I use.

Tell you the truth, I suck with rapiers. I don't have the finesse.

That could be fixed with practice, but if it doesn't suit you, it doesn't suit you. I was never very patient with them, either.

[He does smile a little bit, possibly in reassurance.] The style I use is more about speed, anyway.

Yeah? I'm not too bad in that department. Sign me up, I guess.

I doubt that you would be able to teach me much, but if you want occasional sparring with somebody who is actually likely to challenge you, I would be somebody to do that with.

I won't say no to sparring...From the sounds of it, there's no danger of any of us getting out of practice, but even so.

But even so, there are ways to learn new things. Sparring with somebody coming from a different place would be one of those, would it not?

Yeah. Either way, I'd be glad for the opportunity.

Then we can arrange for that. Do you have a location for your lessons?
