[Vanessa has literally been sitting on this information for months, letting it turn over and over in her head, as if she could make sense of it. It's not like it doesn't make sense. Being told that you're straight up a clone makes it a little hard to dispute, all things considered.

That makes it even worse, she supposes. And she's not told anyone about it, so any crisis she's had have been dealt with alone.

But she has friends now, people she absolutely trusts, and she's not really ready to tell the entire population that their bodies aren't technically their own.

So here she sits, biting her lip as she stares at the camera.]

Um, okay. So, after Percy made his post about the discovery of the cloning facility, I needed to know... more. [A beat.] I mean, hey. Sorry to dump this on you suddenly and out of nowhere, guys.

[A nod.] I went to the Emperor. She was surprised that I was asking about it, like a good sort of surprised. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is, I asked her what that facility was all about. Like, why do we even have clones? [She has no idea how to get straight to the point, which is why she fidgets a bit, her upper arms going translucent.] She told me that organic matter can't be brought through to this place. That our bodies are clones. It's our souls in here. [She presses a hand to her chest.] But these aren't our original bodies, and there are more. There have to be more bodies, because I think that means she can just bring us back when we're going up against, you know. And there have to be more facilities, right? Because more people show up all the time!

[Vanessa pauses, takes a breath, and tucks a curl behind her ear.] What do we do?

[Freed of pizza, Percy's hand drums distractedly against the desk. It's a moment or two before he speaks, and his voice is soft when he does it] This place could use some change. When normal means being kept in the dark about everything that's happening to and around us? That needs to change.

It doesn't mean that you should, either. [Her fingers wrap around her amulet, but it's as silent as it always is in this place. What would Selene say? Or Jimena, for that matter. Jimena's always been more insightful than her, always had the answers. She wishes that her friend was here.]

I was going to say, don't you two think that having too much information might be a bad thing, but I don't think that applies in either of your cases. [Catty says no, they say yes. Vanessa doesn't really know what to think, and she can't stop either Percy or Annabeth from telling the turtle population, even if she doesn't particularly want to tell them. Or does she? She's argued both sides, but doesn't even know.]

Maybe you're right.

It's always better to know something than not. [Annabeth, you might be a little biased. Her eyes follow the movement to the amulet though, and it's not the first time she's seen Vanessa make the gesture.]

[She sighs a little.] I can't tell you what to do or not, with what you know. Too much information definitely doesn't usually apply in our case. [The smush from either to our doesn't even register.] This place just has too many unknowns.

[Percy nods, agreeing with his girlfriend and totally missing the gesture from Vanessa.

And then his tone turns dry] Even when people are telling us the future, we usually don't have enough information. But it's your decision, in the end. I don't think either one of us wants to keep pushing you or something.

I agree, and I also really disagree with that. I think sometimes knowing too much can be a really bad thing. [But she also wishes there had been things she'd known ahead of time. She sighs, dropping her amulet and running her fingers through her hair again. So. Frustrating.]

I'll think about it, okay? But I figured... At least you guys should have the information.

I appreciate that. Thanks. [And she does. She probably won't run around sharing it willy nilly, if only because she understands Vanessa's struggling with it. But she's Annabeth, and hey, knowing things is always great.]

[Despite the seriousness of the topic, he grins at that comment] Says the daughter of the Goddess of Wisdom.

And yeah, it means a lot that you'd share this with us, Vanessa. I know it's not an easy decision to make.
