But that's not what she's on the network to talk about, far from it.]

I'm as glad as the next person that Tu Vishan is better, and that our powers and tech are working again. [Really, she is! Though you might not be able to tell that from her face.] But this is far from over. At best, we've managed to delay it. [And she knows all about delaying the enemy - sometimes, that's the best you can hope for, but delay isn't defeat, and eventually it always comes down to a fight.]

We need to get together, plan and prepare for whatever it might throw at us next. I want to get my teams up and running - defense and medical. Anyone who wants to help me, let's meet.

Ah, some sort of civic service!

I know, during the emergency, I had assisted in efforts to restore our abilities. You perceive, it would be worthwhile to continue these studies. Though I most certainly do not object to practice against any foes we may encounter. Quite the opposite! And I most heartily regret not being called into direct action during the emergency.

[Really, Tazendra wants an excuse to fight things, and she found the specters a pain in the neck, and was disappointed Evandu didn't call her up for things.]

It's good to know some people still take the idea of civic service as a responsibility and a privilege.

I definitely would like to get some people working on learning more about the turtle and what its connection is to our powers and technology, if we can find enough people willing to help who have the know-how.

Well, perhaps some do not see this civilization as properly theirs; I do not have much of an interested in serving a foreign Emperor, but...

... I mislike being idle, and the locals here provide limited diversion.

[Read: there is only so much drinking and gambling here that Tazendra can tolerate on her funds, and she refuses to pick fights with people unless they are the sort to give her a challenge, which rules out the vast majority of locals]

It's not about serving the kedan Emperor. It's about helping ourselves, and everyone on the turtle, regardless of where they come from or what civilization they belong to.

[She sighs a little, and shakes her head.] But it doesn't matter what your motivations are, as long as you're willing to help.

[But isn't the kedan Emperor in charge? Tazendra isn't terribly good at grasping power structures that aren't 'nobility/officers/etc. order everyone around']

[As far as Shepard is concerned, she's under no obligation to listen to anyone who she didn't elect and who is technically a kidnapper - but for the moment, it seems better to work with the kedan authorities than against them, at least until or unless their motivations are proved to be actively harmful to the population.]

The turtle was sick, for a long time. Maybe dying. We only just recently managed to make it better.

[ She's never going to get used to the fact that they're on a turtle but, despite that, Olivia seems to hear that without looking at Shepard like she's insane. ] Do you have any idea what it was sick with?

[It might be a weird sort of advantage that Shepard has, that she's so used to being thought insane anymore that she's pretty good at just ignoring the weird looks and plowing on forward with her information.]

Can't say we can put a name to it, besides Malicant, which is apparently an evil being trying to attack us. We stopped it - or delayed it - for now.

That's pretty much it, I'm afraid. A few foreigners actually encountered it personally - they might have a little more information, but it sounds like their minds were messed with pretty thoroughly, so I'm not sure how helpful they'd be.
