second. }{ video.
Have I been gone so long? It feels as if only moments have passed for me, and yet the mainland lies nowhere in sight. Only water... In the way of the people of my first husband, Drogo who was my sun-and-stars, the sea is called the poison water. They fear that which their horses cannot drink.
[ And Dany? What does she fear? ]
Again, I seek word of Drogon, if he is here. When last I was present he'd only just arrived, and injured several people. Though they weren't residents of Keeliai, I offer my sincere apologies regardless. If he's still here and has hurt anyone since... You may submit yourself to me for recompense, and I will ensure justice is done.
To those who are new since my last term of residence, I give greetings. My name is Daenerys, of House Targaryen.
[ ooc: HER HAIR IS BACK ftr, idk magic or some shit ]

[Temeraire is a little thinner and a little more worn than the last time Dany saw him, but he looks as curious as ever as he leans into the camera.]
It has been more than two months since I saw you last, and I have not seen Drogon, at all; I do not know if he returned from the mainland. [His own departure from Atam was a little rushed as it was.]
no subject
Two months? Truly? [ She's not sure if that seems a long time or a short one. The passage of time feels distant to her. ]
I'm not sure if that should be a comfort or not.
no subject
I do not, either. Food has been scarce on the turtle of late, and the rationing has only just been lifted. [As opposed to the mainland, where food for Drogon was probably plentiful. Albeit, you know, people.]
no subject
Is all well in the city? With rationing I would expect there to be unrest.
no subject
Of course there has been unrest, on both sides, and the kedan have been a little unfriendlier than usual, but that is not the least of it: we have learned why we have been brought here, if you did not know for sure before.
Video
The translator isn't on the fritz or something, is it? Did you seriously just say you're married?
no subject
[ It's jarring to hear herself addressed so directly. The only ones who have ever done so were her brother, Drogo her sun-and-stars, and on occasion Ser Willem Darry and Ser Jorah Mormont. Never strangers. ]
Address me as khaleesi, if you would. And you heard truly. I have married, been widowed, and of late married again.
no subject
[He blinks a few times at hearing that she's been married twice, frowning deeply at the word widowed. He doesn't even know her, but it's surprising and moving, throwing him off enough to address her properly without really thinking about it.
But he clears his throat and changes the subject.]
What sort of title is khaleesi? Is it like miss?
no subject
Khaleesi is the title given to the wife of the khal, the leader of a Dothraki horde. Drogo, my first husband who was my sun-and-stars, was khal of a vast horde.
no subject
So. That makes you something like a queen? Huh. You seem nicer than the folks running this place. Khaleesi.
no subject
Yes, I met the Emperor recently - or some time ago, I suppose. She was hardly what I'd call pleasant. [ Actually, she was patronizing and rude, and pissed Dany off. ]
no subject
I haven't met the Emperor. Just a lieutenant or something. Not a people person.

It is indeed, little one.

Who is Drogon?
no subject
Drogon is my dragon. He's a great, fierce black beast with wings of red.
no subject
I don't think there are dragons where I'm from.

[And for her, that may well be the whole planet as far as she knows.]

I don't know much about it. I've only ever seen the forest and my uncles house.]

We had a nice house with a big yard near the forest. It was quiet.

[They just had oaks and maples and pines.]

How gracious of you, to offer compensation for acts which could not possibly be your responsibility. [Westley could call this honor or foolhardiness; time will tell which.]

I cannot say whether I succeed in being a good mother, thought I do try.

Time to mention exactly none of that. Instead, Richard greets Daenerys with a genial smile. By attention to the other conversations, he selects his form of address and works out exactly what 'Drogon' is.] It's a pleasure, khaleesi. I am Richard, King of Windor. I wish you luck in finding your Drogon again. Am I right in understanding that your dragon was one from your home? [Because that is interesting! He can extrapolate from Temeraire's words that Drogon was on the mainland first, but he didn't realize that living creatures from home could be found there.]
no subject
I am likewise pleased, Your Grace. He is indeed from my home.
no subject
But what Richard will never understand: why Westerosi are using 'Your Grace' for monarchs.]
I would have liked to meet him. The dragons of other worlds seem most unlike those in mine. Was he, like Temeraire, capable of speech?
no subject
It's been.. awhile.
no subject
It is.
