[So Billy has been that bored that he's either listened and watched most of the conversations going on, and had moments of horrible home sickness. Boredom doesn't begin to cover how he's feeling. Now that the action has died down, it's just a constant moment of sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting. Waiting sucked.]

So, someone mentioned comic books. Kinda curious about who else here really read them back where they come from and what kind? What were they like? Heroes, blah, blah, blah.

I'm that bored and yeah, curious.

I'm into finding old issues, we have titles that are based on like hero teams from my world as well. Collect Avengers titles. They're uh...a team back home.

It's a small price you gotta pay for coming to a place like this where others can come from different worlds.

You think this is also a parallel universe? [ hmm he hadn't considered that possibility but ]

But it'd take an immense amount of energy to bring such a large number of people from their own universe if that is the case.

30th century as I know still had rudimentary time travel technology. Not really time travel, but enough of a jump to make people feel like one. Although to enter into the timestream itself is a bit different. We've probably got an alternate reality thing going on, although -- you already did mention that she'd created different timelines. As long as no paradoxes were created because those can be some very, very bad things.

[ and then just watching because what. no really, what. he's really seen all sorts of species that are possible of things very similar to that but Billy looks human and ...magic? Not really something he buys into. ]

Magic. Magic? Are you sure that whatever accidents they might have been [ and he sounds dubious enough about that ] simply didn't alter their genetic data? Like yours. How did you first discover you could do that?

Ugh alternate realities, time travel, they're both the biggest pains in the world. I don't think anything was created?

[Billy frowns at the question of how he discovered his powers.]

I stood up to a bully and he started to beat me up then boom, my powers came out. I don't know which part is my mutation and what's magical. But I'm thinking that the elemental kinesis is the mutation.

[The bullying is sort of a staple so it's not something he really focuses on for long.]

Some of them had their genetic data altered by whatever happened, some didn't.

Or different times.

Well... yeah. [ She says it like it's obvious, like she hadn't even considered that someone might think otherwise. ]

I mean... well, there are people here from universes that aren't mine. Either of mine. Different versions of my universe. They're... different versions of people I know.

How do you know this isn't the prime universe though? When you bring up something like that, things get... complicated. Very complicated.

Elemental kinesis. Interesting. And what sort of particulars does that extend to? Sorry, it's the first I've sort of heard of any kind of human mutation that led to something non-fatal.

Are you the only from your universe here?

Well, I can create and manipulate light, fire and electricity. But the electro's usually in lightening form. [He shakes his head.] No, it's okay. I mean some mutations are fatal to the person, or to other people. It's not too often you find someone who has an interest and isn't someone who is anti-mutant.

Oh no, I've got my brother and boy friend here. There's also two girls here, but one I met briefly back home and the other I never met. There's different versions of people I know here?

It's just, um, Latveria is an ally of Atlantis, and I'm a member of the royal family, so I can't go around badmouthing Dr. Doom or it might make things rough for Namor.

[It's very, very clear she doesn't like Doom at all, though.]

That's awful. Why would anyone want to be against something so fascinating? [ well he has an inkling to this answer, but there's some part of him hoping that it isn't the human race being stellar people once again. :| ]

And they've all got the same kind of genetic variations or is it a bit more selective than that? It might help explain why the turtle's been picking the kind of people that it has.

That's a...difficult question really. Some people have had bad experiences and who remembers the good when you've had a terrorist mutant group attack every other day? A lot of people put blame of everything bad on to them. I mean, there's mutant groups that try to help, but they're not welcomed by most people. Seen as dangerous. People don't like change, especially not when that change can take over your mind.

Uh yeah to an extent. Different abilities, it's sort of random what you get.

Yeah, I totally get that.

So, wow it's pretty cool that we're from the same place.

[Let's get away from Doom.]

I don't know. Maybe there are only so many universes connected to this one. I wish we had Doc Richards or someone to explain it.

[She's treating this as more of a "ugh traffic is backed up again why" problem than "OH GOD WE ARE IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE" because, well, comics.]

The... prime universe? I'm not sure I understand.

Maybe help from Doctor Strange would help as well, you know if it's more to do with the mystical parts or something.

[He hasn't really dealt with the whole different universes much. Time travel? Yeah. But he still isn't freaking out, he's just glad someone else is pretty much from the same place and will understand some things.]

Think of it as the "original" one -- although, it's a little bit more complicated than that. Maybe the one where the rest diverged from.

Well, okay, but even if it is... some of us definitely aren't from it. So there's some crossing universes going on no matter what, right?

Exactly! And that really shouldn't be as casual of a thing as it seems to be here.

I'm so sorry, Billy. I really am. People react in the most unfortunate ways sometimes. And are surprisingly averse to change, although that's always been something they've had to work on.

Now this might be a bit of a random question -- would it be alright for me to see you use these abilities some time? In person, by the way. Plus any other person you know with anything similar.

I was wondering where he was the other day, too.

[Um, hello, they are all second-stringers where are the big guns? Jeez.]

[ A pause, lips pursed. ] They said there'd been sacrifices. To bring us here. The Emperor wouldn't tell me exactly what, but...

Sacrifices.

Sacrifices, to bring others here without so much as an explanation given and everything all neatly tied up with secrets and citizens who won't say a word either.

It's not fun to see happen really, not when you're one yourself. I mean, I'm lucky in that I can hide my powers from people. Most people at school know though, but it's no worse than how things were before. I'm kinda hoping that some day, not necessarily in my time, but in the future, everyone's just a little more open about things. It's tiring being angry at people.

[He's a little unsure and he looks it no doubt. He purses his lips and thinks.]

Just a look, right? I don't think the others will be okay with it, they'll probably think I'm being stupid but I think it's fine. I mean, I'm okay with it. But just a look. Try anything and I'll defend myself.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of people here that can do something.

[How inconsiderate to allow them to come to a place like this and not have helpful adult supervision.]
