[So Billy has been that bored that he's either listened and watched most of the conversations going on, and had moments of horrible home sickness. Boredom doesn't begin to cover how he's feeling. Now that the action has died down, it's just a constant moment of sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting. Waiting sucked.]

So, someone mentioned comic books. Kinda curious about who else here really read them back where they come from and what kind? What were they like? Heroes, blah, blah, blah.

I'm that bored and yeah, curious.

I'm into finding old issues, we have titles that are based on like hero teams from my world as well. Collect Avengers titles. They're uh...a team back home.

I spend more time with the Fantastic Four. I mean, I've known Cap since I first came to New York, but I don't really hang out with the other Avengers that much.

[She totally misinterpreted his question, so it doesn't sound like she's bragging. More like someone trying to find out if they have any friends in common with a new acquaintance.]

Wow, you spent time with them? I haven't really seen them, just the occasional fly by or whatever. I met the Scarlet Witch once! [Twice now since the whole...mother thing.]

Man that's so cool. I met some of the X-Men as well. [Not a fun experience.] But I wouldn't say hung out though. [Except that one time with Magneto and Pietro.]

I love a good comic book! Comics are good. Comics are cool. My favourite's got to be "Attack of the Planeto", even though they did get some of the details wrong from what I remember.

I'd offer a copy to loan out, but it seems like my library's misplaced itself again. Not in the swimming pool this time, mind you, but really properly misplaced itself. Everything has in fact which is a bit worrying.

[Well, there's virtual high fives, but they aren't the same. It's catchy, so he's grinning back.] No way! They never seem to get it right or leave or really important and critical information. So you're like 'who is this guy?'

They always get the details wrong. Which is kind of fun in its own way, if you know the actual story...

Oh, yes! If you start thinking about it as sort of a new separated version?

Well, when it's based on something you lived through... or at least something your friends can tell you about... it's not hard to separate it from the story you know. Especially when some of the changes they make to turn it into a comic are really weird.

But Dr. Richards - ...uh, this super-smart scientist guy from my universe - always said there's an infinite number of universes, so I guess it's possible there's one where our wacky comics with all the details wrong actually happened in reality. Which is super weird to think about even when the whole parallel universe thing is pretty obviously true.

What are you talking about? The Avengers have been around for years. Not just in comics but the actual people.

I used to collect Captain America comics, mostly. But, uh. Then I was his, y'know, sidekick. And it got a little weird...

[ DID SHE STILL HAVE CAPTAIN AMERICA POSTERS ON HER WALLS? FUCK YES SHE DID. ...but she's not going to admit that where Steve might see it. ]

I'm not a fan of those comics books myself. They get a lot of details wrong. And the real thing is usually better anyway.
