Right? Well see, apparently we're here to 'save' them, as in the people here. We don't know how or why no one's said anything. But it's like we're to blame for this, cause we're here the gangs are acting up? It's really confusing.

[Billy sighs and rubs the back of his neck.]

Yeah, that was...kind of dumb, unless it was intentional and maybe to see how we would react and what we can do? He also put the curfew in place, I'm thinking to see who will listen and who'll break the rules. [He shrugs. He's had a lot of time to think about this.]

[ oh billy, see he likes you already because you're a thinker. and he needs someone like that. ]

And that's even more curious, isn't it? Did they already know that our presence would cause the gangs to start fighting and thus, have us wash up on here? Because if that's what we're saving them from, it's almost as of they'd inadvertently caused it. [ time loops and paradoxes, he has business dealing with them ]

The people here are the Keidan. Not quite human, not familiar alien. Interesting because I know a lot of about either, but not about them. There generally isn't much I don't know about so I'm a bit worried. Also we're on a turtle. Still got to find out how that's working out. [ he sounds a bit like he's talking to himself at this point, but rambling to billy has sort of reminded him that maybe there's more he's meant to find out about here first before he leaves! ]

Right, sorry — so we've got a police state going on, don't we? Very nearly, very not good and very much going to get me in trouble. But perhaps it'll get me right to where I want to be.

But if they knew we would be the cause of it, then why would they bring us here to save them, when if we weren't here, the gang fighting wouldn't have escalated to the levels it did? It doesn't make sense unless their gluttons for some kind of punishment.

Yeah, I noticed they weren't exactly human, I think they have slight shape shifting abilities, and they're tougher than a baseline human. So far the turtle hasn't done anything though, I don't even know if it's aware there's a huge city on its shell.

[Billy's chipping in, regardless, with his own.]

Yeah. They aren't the best but they seem to be doing an okay job some times. I mean maybe I'm just spoiled from the police I have back home.

Perhaps it was prophesied, if you believe in that sort of thing. Mind you, I really think it's nothing more than a story, but it could be a fixed point in their time. Which really wouldn't make much sense because it isn't as I can feel the timeflow being stuck here. So they've got to have brought us here wanting the fighting to escalate. Which makes about as sense to me as it does to you, but like I said -- maybe I ought to get a word in with the people in charge here.

Not really, there's too many things that can change for it to be set like that. Unless people think the changes also lead to the event. I don't though. Yeah that...really doesn't make any sense. There's a man named Evandau, he seems to be some kind of person in charge. I forgot his title though.

Hard working, I mean they do their job, hit and miss whether you get to deal with the good cops or not, but that's normal, right? I live in New York, so it's a tough place. We have bad guys blowing up places, taking hostages or just fighting on a weekly basis.

Here it's...we're told about a curfew, not told why we're here. There's cooperation but it just feels really...low?

It's a possibility, but there's no fun in pre-determined events is there. Besides, there was too much chaos going for it to be as controlled as we're speculating. This Evandau though, do you know if there's anyway to contact him?

[ He nods, listening as Billy describes the situations. ]

It seems like they're trying to keep you placated, but only just. I had a lovely chat with some of the other inhabitants here, but they weren't too chatty about what's going on inside the city. It seems like it's a common sentiment amongst everyone here.

Random and unexpected keeps you on your toes a lot more. I mean sometimes you with it could be predictable, but...it's kinda like you're cheating life that way. Honestly, it probably is just the fact we randomly keep showing up here and they saw it as an excuse to act out.

I think they've gotta be hiding something, when I was on the cart, I hardly got any information besides the basics. People with powers also saw them really badly dampened for a while.

Oh, don't you worry about life. It and time and everything to do with that sort of thing is never quite as predictable as anyone would think. And even then, time can be rewritten. You really never do know what's in store!

Time travel isn't exactly my favourite thing to think about. [Not anymore. It used to be though. Not to mention the fact that he can sort of alter reality if he wanted.] Usually a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. That's what's involved. Depends what's been changed or going to be and every other little factors.

[ He smiles back with a sort of glee that really shouldn't be there because of the things they're talking about. But adventures are what gets his hearts a kickin! ] Oh, but getting into trouble's the best part.

A few times actually, experienced it once though. I'm uh, I'm from 2011. I also saw the consequences to the actions of changing history as well. That's why it's not really my favourite thing.

You say "course" like it's an obvious thing. It really isn't. Humans evolve, sure, but they're not exactly known for suddenly developing the natural ability to fly. [ amongst other things ]

Yeah and no. We went back with the promise his tech would hide us from the past. Well okay, it was either we stayed where we were and got caught, or we jumped into the timestream. Now? I'm kind of wishing we stayed where we were. One of...one of our friends saw her dad who dies and...he saw her. Then events carried on but we came to our timeline and it wasn't altered. Her dad was alive, but there was still a statue of her dad. So uh...basically she created different timelines. But it's cause of Nate's tech, he came from the 30th century.

[Man, that was never going to get easier to explain. Billy turns the feed to an encryption.]

Where I'm from, they can. We have what're called mutants and people who were caught in accidents of given gifts by people. [He feels okay with the Doctor so he taps his magic and there's a light blue light coming from below the screen and he lifts his hand which is covered in it. He keeps it concentrated to there.]

I'm a mutant and I can do more than just fly. Though flying isn't something natural to me, it's magic.

[ oooohhh timeline issues. at least the doctor's just able to roll with it ]

30th century as I know still had rudimentary time travel technology. Not really time travel, but enough of a jump to make people feel like one. Although to enter into the timestream itself is a bit different. We've probably got an alternate reality thing going on, although -- you already did mention that she'd created different timelines. As long as no paradoxes were created because those can be some very, very bad things.

[ and then just watching because what. no really, what. he's really seen all sorts of species that are possible of things very similar to that but Billy looks human and ...magic? Not really something he buys into. ]

Magic. Magic? Are you sure that whatever accidents they might have been [ and he sounds dubious enough about that ] simply didn't alter their genetic data? Like yours. How did you first discover you could do that?

Ugh alternate realities, time travel, they're both the biggest pains in the world. I don't think anything was created?

[Billy frowns at the question of how he discovered his powers.]

I stood up to a bully and he started to beat me up then boom, my powers came out. I don't know which part is my mutation and what's magical. But I'm thinking that the elemental kinesis is the mutation.

[The bullying is sort of a staple so it's not something he really focuses on for long.]

Some of them had their genetic data altered by whatever happened, some didn't.

Elemental kinesis. Interesting. And what sort of particulars does that extend to? Sorry, it's the first I've sort of heard of any kind of human mutation that led to something non-fatal.

Are you the only from your universe here?

Well, I can create and manipulate light, fire and electricity. But the electro's usually in lightening form. [He shakes his head.] No, it's okay. I mean some mutations are fatal to the person, or to other people. It's not too often you find someone who has an interest and isn't someone who is anti-mutant.

Oh no, I've got my brother and boy friend here. There's also two girls here, but one I met briefly back home and the other I never met. There's different versions of people I know here?

That's awful. Why would anyone want to be against something so fascinating? [ well he has an inkling to this answer, but there's some part of him hoping that it isn't the human race being stellar people once again. :| ]

And they've all got the same kind of genetic variations or is it a bit more selective than that? It might help explain why the turtle's been picking the kind of people that it has.

That's a...difficult question really. Some people have had bad experiences and who remembers the good when you've had a terrorist mutant group attack every other day? A lot of people put blame of everything bad on to them. I mean, there's mutant groups that try to help, but they're not welcomed by most people. Seen as dangerous. People don't like change, especially not when that change can take over your mind.

Uh yeah to an extent. Different abilities, it's sort of random what you get.

I'm so sorry, Billy. I really am. People react in the most unfortunate ways sometimes. And are surprisingly averse to change, although that's always been something they've had to work on.

Now this might be a bit of a random question -- would it be alright for me to see you use these abilities some time? In person, by the way. Plus any other person you know with anything similar.

It's not fun to see happen really, not when you're one yourself. I mean, I'm lucky in that I can hide my powers from people. Most people at school know though, but it's no worse than how things were before. I'm kinda hoping that some day, not necessarily in my time, but in the future, everyone's just a little more open about things. It's tiring being angry at people.

[He's a little unsure and he looks it no doubt. He purses his lips and thinks.]

Just a look, right? I don't think the others will be okay with it, they'll probably think I'm being stupid but I think it's fine. I mean, I'm okay with it. But just a look. Try anything and I'll defend myself.

It'll happen, I'm sure. As long as there's people like you and the other nicer ones that you've mentioned to show others that it's not really as bad as it seems to be. [ he frowns because he doesn't really know much about Billy's universe but a little bit of hope-giving is ok right? ]

[He's been in two minds about everything. Even after M-Day, mutants were still hated by a large population of the world. And Professor Xavier had been fighting for a better life with co-existence. Billy knew it would be slow going, even after some of the progress but another part of him couldn't see how when there were mutants like him around or other destructive beings.

He raises a brow at the hearts comment.]

I'll talk to them about it at some point, but I can go along. You said...hearts, right?
