[ Loki is leaning a bit too close to the terminal screen when he starts to record his little post. He seems a little too bright-eyed given the circumstances, and there’s an odd rapidity to his speech when he starts talking. ]
I have to admit, I am disappointed. [ He holds up a touchscreen phone so his audience can get a look at it. ] These Starkphones are simply not designed for the rigor of interdimensional travel, and the lack of service is a failure I cannot abide. How will I chronicle my doings without the aid of Instagram and Facebook? Nor can I go on to spread knowledge of this failing with a review!
At least the natives of this realm are accommodating, though I don’t think this makes for an adequate replacement of my phone.
[ He pauses only briefly before switching gears. ] Now, moving onto more important matters… I have a few questions about the quality of native cuisine and where the best breakfast can be found.

[Because hey, you know, if Teddy ever shows up here... you know, could be kind of fun.] All right, so you're a Young Avenger. That brings us up to three now, here, from back home. The Avengers are here... well, most of them are here, so I'm not sure if we're young or not anymore.
[The Tony here is from a different time then Billy, and that was not a fun conversation to have.] Well, if you ever tell anyone what happens here, back home, they're going to think you're even more nuts.
[He gives a hesitant smile.] And you like breakfast food?
no subject
It's become "a thing" since I joined. [ He makes air-quotes as if to emphasize the 'thingness' of that action. This is only partially accurate, and wildly misleading. ] And I've come to like Midgardian food.
[ He looks like he's hesitating, glancing off yet again to the side, but then he's focusing again. ]
We should get breakfast foods. I could tell you of your good hair decisions, and we can pretend that I am not half as mad as I have been sounding.
no subject
Yeah. [His smile is a little hesitant, because he's kind of nervous, but what does he have to lose? Right?]
Yeah, let's do that. The breakfast food is a little different here, but they have a lot of the same things from back home. Whenever you want, you might want more time to adjust or... you know. [A handwave that should convey 'you have a lot of people talking to you that don't like you right now so maybe that would take awhile'.]

[ There's some genuine reluctance in his voice, and he rolls his eyes. ]
If Iron Man does not try to attack me in the near future, I'll probably have a clear schedule. Pick a place in an hour. Tell Tommy if you find it needful, but don't mention it on here, okay? I can just find you, and it'll be great.
[ He was not getting his party crashed just because people were justifiably suspicious of him. ] Good plan?
no subject
Yeah, so long as he doesn't attack you, I think we'll be okay. Good plan! See you in an hour. [Should he tell Tommy? He told him that Loki was here, but... maybe he won't tell him. That might be better.]
---> action?
[ With any luck, Billy actually followed through because the tiny god will no matter where he is.
It's exactly an hour when Loki appears in a bloom of green light, and promptly lands his behind on the floor in an excellent display of skill. He doesn't even look up right away, instead pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. ]
That was meant to be far more impressive.
action!
Win/Win! So when the green light appeared, he expected Loki to do what he did. Come out, drift down a little, land gracefully. Not what happened, not even close.]
It was kind of impressive? I think I did that... a lot. I still do it, sometimes. [He offers his hand to help him up.] It's okay. No one else saw?
action!
[ He doesn't even hesitate to take the hand provided to him. It was hardly the first time he'd blown through his magic reserves and gotten woozy. Well, it was for Billy, of course, but he wasn't going to let anything like temporal shenanigans change the familiar way he acts. ]
I've been pushing my luck. [ Once he's up, he'll go slump into a seat. He'll perk up in a moment, particularly with the promise of delicious foodstuffs. ] Trying to sound out how badly we're blocked off all day, and then teleporting all about after was a sucky idea.
[ Welcome to the experience of the new and improved Loki. ]
action!
So he takes the seat across from him. It's actually been some time since he last ate, and Billy... he's just rich, now. All that coin collecting literally paid off.]
So you're only resting now? [He shakes his head.] I didn't test the boundaries here that much after the first time. I did try to get in the palace, but the girl I was with, Raven, she couldn't get in either.
[He made a face.] It felt like hitting a wall with your head. So... I don't recommend it or anything. At least you came at a time when your powers are still with you.
action!
[ Loki's eyes are hard like green agates as he babbles, and it's clear that he's trying to think his way through something complicated. The obvious suggestion hangs in the air, but he doesn't make it.
"Perhaps if our efforts were combined" wasn't something he was about to say blatantly. Not this time.
And then he abruptly switches gears. ]
Wait, priorities! I'm supposed to have priorities here, let's see...
[ His brow furrows and he bites his lower lip as he pulled out his phone and starts to sort through it. It took a moment to find a picture without spoilers. He was almost positive that random apparent skrulls breaking down doors to interrupt birthday parties hardly counted. ]
Our true objective.
[ He slides the newly repaired phone over. If Billy isn't so careful and swipes the screen at all, the photos on each side are much, much more spoileriffic. ]
action!
Just coming here to see my new hair is a pretty cool objective, I won't lie.
[And of course the state of his hair is one. That has to be one. Still, he's trying not to be nervous, because really... not time to think about that, either. Picking up the phone, he at first only took in Teddy, and he had to grin. Blowing out birthday candles, yes, good. It's only then that he takes in the rest of the picture.
First being his hair, so that he can make a comment while his eyes take in everything.]
...That's really nice, I wonder if the kedan have something like hair gel, here. [He looks up.] I have to see if I can get it to that while here.
[Priorities! He looks back down at the phone, looking at the Skrulls. Okay, bursting Skrulls isn't that bad. What made them want to chase them is, but he assumes it's because of Teddy. And it's a good thing there's only one candle on the cake, because he wants to know what birthday this is. What birthday had they done with this?]
Besides the Skrulls, Teddy looks pretty happy. [He goes to hand the phone back, and his thumb slipped, sliding the picture to the next one, and he pulls his hand back to look at it. Who were some of these people?
He leans over so he can show Loki the same picture.] I see me, Kate, Teddy... is that Noh-Varr? The guy who tried to kill us!?
[God. He wants more information. Just pictures means he can come up with things, but they aren't the real deal.]
action!
[ Loki reaches out to snatch the phone back, looking aggravated by the new complication. Well, to hell with everything, he'd just have to run with it. ]
You're absurdly popular, drawing any you need to your aid. There is no rhyme or reason to who you turn to your cause as I so personally demonstrate.
[ He huffs. ]
And I'm telling you naught else.
action!
I'm not that popular, it's mostly my friends. [They did say they'd help him look for Wanda, after all, when no one else wanted to. And then Magneto showed up, but let's ignore that part. Was Loki like that? He holds his hands up in a placating gesture.]
Okay! Don't tell me anymore, even if I beg and plead, just ignore all that. [He gives a smile, even if he's a little distracted.]
So, breakfast food! Have you ever heard of tribbles? Because everyone is trying to get rid of their meat, because there's so much of it... how did Noh-Varr join us, he's a part of the team? Where's Tommy? [Spoilers are so difficult to resist, goddamnit!]
action!
[ That last word comes out with a distinct tone of disgust. He hated that word. Hate, hate, hate. ]
And all of this for reasons I will not reveal. Except for your brother and any potential involvement with you and Teddy in those matters. I hope those reasons are incredibly self-evident, as I understand Midgard has no end of qualms about incest. Now order the local fare, I care not what it's called. You are the expert here, and I demand delicious meats.
[ He's talking with his hands, immensely dramatic, and only takes a chance to breathe at the very end. ]
action!
What? They. No, there's not, no, that's. [He has to finish coughing for a second.] Tommy has a girlfriend here. Not that that matters or anything, just.
[Goddamn, but Loki talks fast, and the waiter is over as soon as Billy waves him over. He holds out the menu, points to one of the pictures, and asks for two of those. He'd found this was pretty good, one of those plates that gives you a little bit of everything.]
Okay, delicious meats are on their way. [He shakes his head a little. Delicious meats.] But while we're waiting, I guess... what sector are you in, by the way? I mean, which one are you going to be living in?
action!
They've given me accommodations in the Fire Sector. They are quaint but serviceable, so I might as well stay where they wish to put me.
[ He drums his fingers on the table briefly before amending: ] For now, anyway. I've a feeling I may be facing heat in short order, as it were. Pun very much intended.
Re: action!
Fire sector is the nice part of town. [Billy laughs, looking away for a moment. He's in that sector, too. To say it or not to say it? Either way, he has a feeling that he's going to see a lot of young Loki.] I'm in there, too. Obviously everyone from home is spread out, but the Metal sector is where you'll find... everything.
[And everyone. He makes a face at that terrible pun. Where was Teddy when the bad jokes started?] Yeah, you probably will. There's a lot of people here who aren't going to be pleased with Loki around. However old he is.
[Old or short? Old seemed more polite.]
no subject
[ He doesn't sound too terribly upset by the fact, though there's a touch of resignation. It was just the way the world worked, and he was much too good a liar to pretend it somehow didn't. That would strain suspension of disbelieve much too hard.
His lips quirk into a vicious grin. ]
It makes helping them so much more fun. The best of mischiefs always involve confounding as many people as possible, if you ask me.
no subject
[Let's be brutally honest for a moment. He's right, that the name Loki, plus the fact that he looks like a younger version of Loki, would immediately put people off. Really quickly. Billy might have been one of those people, but Loki knew him.
That changed everything. Tilting his head a little, Billy looked Loki in the eyes unflinchingly.]
Is that how you joined the Young Avengers? By confounding all of us?
no subject
[ Direct eye contact seems to encourage Loki's poor sense of humor to take a backseat. He sobers up some, briefly biting his lower lip absently as he thought. It was nice to be able to edit history as he saw fit. He'd be very careful about it, but he'd keep things well under control. Billy was a kind person, sympathetic. That would make this work. ]
My fate is bound up in yours. There was a mistake made, and I'm a part of things until such a time that you--or, rather, the 'you' of my time and dimension--gain a measure of mastery over your magic.
[ He laughs, a short sound with more resignation than anything to it. ]
I've become fond of the merry band, though. I've never been a part of something before. Being here... it's bad for me. Very bad.
no subject
And he didn't have a good control over his magic right now, either.]
I'm sure I'll... [Oh. He's never been a part of something. That saddens him, because wasn't that how he felt when Nate showed up? He hadn't been a part of something. He'd been apart of other people's things, because that's what happens when you're bullied. You're a part of a world you never wanted to be in.
Billy understands it so well. He'd like to touch his hand, but personal boundaries.]
Why is it bad for you? There's at least two people you know here, right? In a way?
