[Ending with a sing-song voice, she addresses anyone else who might be paying attention to her feed.]

To the rest of you, that's one hell of a song and dance they do for you back at the palace, isn't it? Too bad it's probably full of lies or something.

[Her smile fades as she makes a face and gives a deliberate, dramatic sigh.]

I've been here several months now and I've come to the conclusion that while they might not tell us everything, they aren't lying- at least, not that I've discovered yet. Welcome to Keeliai.

As I said, they didn't tell us everything. According to all reports, we're here to fight a war against their ancient enemy- of course, he's only manifested himself a few times since my arrival. We spend most of our time living our lives.

What kind of enemy? And why bother bringing us here? City is full of people.

The sort of enemy that will respond to his name being spoken or typed aloud, I'm afraid. He seems to be very powerful and quite malevolent. Not the sort of fellow you want lurking about. [Thus the need to get rid of him.]

Apparently we can do something they can't. I'm not sure that means with any special abilities we might have or otherwise... you really would have to ask the Emperor about that.

[She really doesn't like the sound of that. A few weeks as a werewolf and suddenly she's being whisked away weird places to fight Voldemorte-esque enemies? Yeah, Erica's really not okay with this.]

Alright, so how do we get to the Emperor? Has anyone asked her what we can do that they can't?

She has an audience every month or so. I'm not sure if anyone has asked her that precisely, but it might be worth the effort next time.

I'll try to remember. Modern informality is still a strange fit for me.

I've had no trouble from anyone who opposes the supernatural. Many people here have powers or abilities beyond the mundane.

What kinds of powers and abilities do they have?

[She is not going to come out with what she is on the public network so she's not about to chime in with HEY ME TOO but maybe if they meet in person she'll mention it. Maybe.]

Good heavens, far too many to list. I've seen people who can fly or cast magic spells- things I never would have expected at home. It seems you really can teach an old wolf new tricks.

[Not that he looks any older than Derek, honestly. Though significantly better groomed and dressed.]

[Derek is still older than Erica and to a teen that gap is slightly significant though she wouldn't call him old. The way Lyall talks however makes her wonder...]

I'm from 1873, and I was changed just before King Henry VIII legitimized the supernatural community.

[She has no idea when King Henry VIII was king but what she does know is that 1873 is a century and a half ago (or close enough) and King Henry VIII must be from quite a ways back before that which makes this guy really frickin' old. Not that he looks it at all. At all.]

How is that even possible? Is that some sort of werewolf power or something?

Werewolves- at least in my world- are immortal. Most don't live quite so long, but I don't tend to get into quite as many fights as others do.

So. Werewolves are legitimized in your world by a king. They're immortal if they don't get killed by other werewolves. And you're like, really, really old. And you study sheep.

They were legitimized in England. Other countries are frequently less tolerant- especially America and Italy. We can be killed in other ways as well, but I am hardly going to enumerate them in public.

I manage a medical clinic in the Fire Sector. I think it's been six or seven months now- so, quite some time.
