[Tim chooses to keep his first entry to text, avoiding having his voice and face on the network immediately. This decision is aided by his mistrust of the city he's found himself in and by the fact that his uniform doesn't quite cover him as much as he's used to. He's still unsure whether the city is part of the Unternet or not, because how else does he explain the uniform. But then where were Tam and Lonnie - he'd been with them moments before waking.]

I know I'm not the only one who's been brought here, so I'm curious - how many non-natives got fished out of the ocean? Also, have any of you heard of the Ünternet? [He keeps the second question vague because it's easier than directly asking if any of the Bat family are here.] More importantly: has anyone been here long enough to get a decent lay of the land and an idea where to get a good, strong cup of coffee? [Because he has a headache like you wouldn't know.]

One, I was dragged in like yesterday's fresh catch early this morning. Nice trick, considering I'd tucked myself in nice and cozy in my own bed last night. No Repo man to help me along to death's pretty door, either, so far as I know. Two, never heard of the Unternet... the Internet is still abuzz with daily gossip, but I've never heard it called that. [It might have been a misspelling, but it could also be that he'd spelled it correctly and this one was from somewhere/time else. That is why he doesn't type shit out for the most part; too easy to spell shit wrong.] Three...

[There isn't much that escapes Bruce at the best of times. Between the comment about the Unternet, the fact that there are zero other identifying comments to the text, and the text itself, he knows full well he's talking to a member of the Batfam who's had access to the Unternet itself, or one of their inner circle who's familiar with the concept. That single, innocuous statement is the Keeliai equivalent of a Batsignal splashed across the Gotham skyline.

He rules out Dick. Not enough quips. Neither Cassandra nor Stephanie would be using text - the former because of her difficulty with the written word, and the latter because she doesn't know how to do anything in a subdued manner. It's not imperious enough for Damian.

That leaves Tim or Barbara.

And Barbara would already know where to get the coffee.

Bruce shifts, stretching out one leg in front of him. He's at one of the cafés, his appearance altered enough that very few people could hope to recognize him. Tim is one of those people, which is why he keeps it to the anonymous text for now.]

[Okay, he's going to admit he doesn't like the anonymity - or rather, doesn't like not being able to find a way by it right now (something to work on). Still, he wonders how logical it is to assume the use of an anonymous console means he's talking to someone of a similar persuasion - maybe even a Bat. Hard to tell given the demographics of those already appearing on the network.] I'd rather not trawl all of the coffee shops until I find one that serves it strong enough to keep me awake.

[Good, Tim. Bruce can sense the suspicion there, that detective's intuition honed to a razor's edge even before he was lost to time. Tim's always been smart. His intellectual successor, and maybe eventually even his superior.

He suppresses a slight note of pride at that. 'A father's greatest triumph is to have his son surpass his own excellence'. He gives it another two comments before Tim cracks his identity.]

These people seem keen on catering to us. You could always ask.

Still, he's not going to connect a name with his UID yet, and he doesn't expect Damian to pick up on who he is - he is, after all, good at covering his tracks. Enquiring about the Ünternet means he could be anyone, even potentially a villain.]

It's good to know someone has at least heard of it. Means I'm not here alone.
