It's...weird. I mean, my magic can get a little...violent if I'm in a bad mood and it's a vital part of me, but it's not as...I'm not sure how to describe it. Magic, if you don't learn or practice it, eventually goes away more or less. Gran and Gramps're like that. I don't think that's the case with Leo's powers.

[He shakes his head, raising an eyebrow. They never thought of their powers like 'magic' back at home, more like powers or gifts or legacy... but it seems Sadie's powers work differently. He wonders if he should worry about what Leo could do if he's in her body.]

We usually keep our powers, but as we grow old- well, people actually want to start having a normal life and use them less and less. Lose practice. But they are still there, they are a part of us. Part of our genes, even if gods don't have those. It's not an ability, if that makes sense? It's who we are.

Maybe you'll be able to control them if you think of them like that?

The magic or us being really powerful? Because it's "yes" to both. We come from two lines of pharaohs.

[Frank gets a ??? kind of expression, are all the teenagers on this turtle extremely powerful or is Frank just that lucky? He shouldn't be surprised, he lived surrounded by demigods for weeks and his friends all have powerful abilities. Yet it always take him off guard.]

So you're a descendant of the pharaohs? [Yeah, sorry, he kind of needs confirmation of that.] Wait, does that mean the Pharaohs all had powerful magic?

Yes and sort of? It was more that they could host the gods easier because I think there were non-pharaoh magicians back in ancient Egypt but really that's all I know for certain. You'd have to ask Carter for the details.

And Carter is... your brother?

How powerful is he, exactly? The closest things we have to magicians are the children of Hecate they have in Camp Half-Blood...

That's a little harder to explain? Magic's not, like, uniform or anything. I'm better at using Divine Words, making portals, and can use the Duat to see what people really are, but Carter's a battle mage who also happens to be better at traveling the Duat and shapeshifting himself. Zia's an elementalist. My boyfriend is a necromancer who's also a charm-maker. Mum was a diviner, which is really rare. I can tell you that Carter's the most powerful magician but he's not the best.

[He nods, understanding.]

It's like how we all have powers, and they are all different depending on who our godly parent is... but Percy and Annabeth are still the most powerful ones of the group. [And Jason, maybe... but just like Leo has a mancrush on his best bro Frank has the biggest mancrush on Percy and his girlfriend.]
