[Bart has gotten clothes that fit and has finished internally flipping out enough that he can handle making a console post. He saw how crazy the posts had been earlier, and he was so not up for that. ]

Anyone who points out the obvious and says omigod you're older will be ignored until I figure out how to ban them.

[um. Maybe he's still not all that up for it.]

Has everyone been accounted for? I know a lot of people are in a tizzy right now, but... there's people I haven't seen in the past 24 hours, and I really want to make sure there's no 9 month olds crawling into a well.

[There's a little cringe at the thought.]

Sorry for the mental image. In other news, I'm thinking of teaming up with Dick to make chili cheese dogs. Anyone have suggestions for meat and preservative substitutes?

[Private to Dinah]

If you aren't spitting fireballs or glowing like Three Mile Island or dealing with extra body parts and you're between the ages of say 16 and 50, could you squeeze me in for a few lessons at the Dojo? Might as well get something out of all of this.

[encrypted 50% to Barry]

I... kinda need a favor. Zee's spell screwed with more than ages, and Tim's a little hyper. It's not a good look on someone that uptight and wound. So - look, I know that there's probably nothing you can do, but if you could drop by, I'd owe you one. We're at ME-2B.

[He rubs at the back of his neck. Bart really hates having to ask for help. It's like admitting that they can't handle it. Plus, it's Barry, so it really doubles that. He doesn't want to look like a screw up in front of the Flash, especially when Barry barely knows him so there's not a huge body of evidence to be judged on. The lack of a relationship makes asking for a favor even harder. He feels like he's being an intrusion.]

You know, if you have time.

[Private to Kon]

You wanna just crash here for now? I'd feel better about this whole deal.

[Encrypted to Tim; 50%]

Stop eavesdropping and hacking. I know you're doing it. Don't lie. You're bored.

[Baseline encryption to Hayley]

[He's had some time to cool off and draw some parallels to friends of his, and now Bart feels like mud for crapping on her friendship, sven if it WAS Lex.]

I'm sorry about what I said the other day. It's not fair to judge him on what he was in my world. Maybe he'll never be that. I hope that's the case.

[Yanked around on the age spectrum? Yes. Someone you know to some extent? Also a yes. This might be semi-payback for the time with the tribbles. Have a dubious expression at the phrase 'cheese product'.]

If it isn't real cheese, doesn't it make that it imitation cheese?

That sounds like far too much effort for food with what's already available here. I don't think you'd be able to easily produce the cheese product necessary. What if you did and it came out wrong? You would still have to use it. Wasting food would be terrible.

[He's trying very hard to look serious, but he might be is definitely failing. Why would you want to eat something so thoroughly processed when you have the opportunity to eat something else? Besides, if you can reliably create a regular quantity of some form of sodium phosphate here, there are more interesting things to do with it than using it on cheese of all things.]

There're more interesting things you could do with sodium phosphate.

[At least with one form of it.

Not that he's going to attempt any sort of soldering while he's this age and the older Kal-El is still so concerned over his well being. What freedom he currently has would no doubt end up even more curbed if Kal-El caught wind of him even considering it right now.

Science is far more interesting than food.]

I prefer things to be scientifically interesting.

[He is not especially adventurous when it comes to food by habit, but there isn't very much here that's familiar in the first place, even though there's a wider variety of food options present. The concept of hot dogs and their fixings are a curiosity he'd eat to at least humor Kal-El, though.]

[Bart is being very accidentally treated to an expression that could be best interpreted as 'duh'.]

Compounds have different chemical properties. Comparing them to pure examples of the elements they contain is misleading.

Not all salts are. Lead diacetate isn't.

The mun regrets pursuing the geological sciences in lieu of chemistry.

[personal profile] lookedtothestars 2013-09-29 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
I already know all of this.

[Outside of 'table salt', but he can at least infer that's sodium chloride.]

If I knew 5 years ago I would need chemistry for RP I would've picked those classes instead.

It's not boring.

[He was not being cranky. He pauses a bit at the word 'homesick', however. Nearly everyone here had somewhere to return to, and many of them were from Earth.]

If you're able to make the ingredients you need in the first place, it should last longer than that since it means it would be reproducable.

Literary/history references are always fun, but alas, complete alien.

I think they would be more grateful than that. There are few reminders of home for many who've been brought here.

[Slang aside, he could understand how it certainly would be a negative experience for most to be here. Even if Lara isn't present and there is barely anything reminiscent of Krypton, he does have family here.]

In some ways. But it could be far worse for everyone than it is.

[Certainly for him.]
