This is the second time that I've been powerless. Last time, the whole Turtle was sick and everyone wound up losing their powers. Actually, it was... sorta a good thing. They had this rationing thing going on - a normal person would have been kinda hungry on what they were letting you have. Somebody kept sneaking extra food into my old place. I never did figure out who it was.

[Barry is going to assume that by 'spook' Bart means Bruce.]

If he didn't have one, I'd be surprised. [The man has a plan for everything, even situations no one else expects will ever happen.] I can try asking but I'm not sure he'd tell me.

[Which is only fair. It wouldn't really make sense for him to learn about contingency plans centered specifically around his powers if something were to go wrong. That, and Barry isn't particularly sure he wants to know the types of things that have been set up.

The rationing sounds difficult though, and Barry's infinitely glad that same thing isn't happening now.

[Isn't that a pleasant thought? Bart's not all that upset by the concept, really. When good guys go bad, it's not pretty. He doesn't think that any of them would, but: mind control. It happens.

Yeah! We've already got decent recipes for pizza and mac and cheese. I would've gone for corn dogs first. I figure I can ask Mrs. Reyes what she used to make the tamales. But the hot dogs are the important part. I know the ingredients. It's finding them here that's tricky.

[It's said with a smile because he honestly is interested. The smile fades though as Barry flounders around for what to say next. For all that slowing down and taking the time to talk with those he knows is easy as pie to him most days, talking to Bart is still strangely hard.]
