Voxophone I -- video
[UNLIKE her… friend? escort? companion? partner-in-crime?, Elizabeth had significantly less-trouble starting the network running. Probably because she paid attention to what was being told to her. What can she say? She picks things up pretty easily. After turning on the PC, she settles down in front of it, looking at it curiously. This is where the feed begins.]
Oh! Hello! You really can see my face! It's like a voxophone and a Kinetoscope all in one!
Right. My name's Elizabeth- I'm looking for a man? He's tall, brown hair, rugged-looking, scowls all the time, like this: [She contorts her face into an exaggerated scowl for a moment, before returning to an easier-to-look-at face.] His name is Booker Dewitt, and if anyone has seen him… Well, I hope he's here. [Did she actually just say that? Yes, yes she did.]
And if he's not? Well, then, hello!

Video;
IN ANY CASE
well, you know.... it was his idea to fix things and get booker since they couldn't get directly involved.
if that... counts for anything...?
After all the internalized panicking, Robert musters up the resolve to reply, wiping sweaty palms flat against the thighs of his trousers as he sits in front of the computer (and tries really hard not to just excuse himself for a drink).]
Well, at first our interests very objective--Rosalind's still were and maybe still are, I can't be certain--, but when we found out what Comstock had really wanted out of a child, I opposed the whole thing. I wanted to get you out of there.
Of course, he couldn't have that and arranged something with Fink, essentially resulting in our death. You know how it goes from there.
After that, we had no power to get directly involved. That's why we brought Booker across to you. Belated as it was, we did try and do something for you.
Video;
So you found Booker and hired him... Agreeing to paying off his debt if he did... [Robert it is for the best if you accept this as a new truth and go with it. Otherwise, you're going to have one very furious Elizabeth without a siphon.
I think you know how that goes.]
You were lucky it didn't happen later. [There's a darkness there that scares even her.] I understand. I just wish you'd done something sooner.
Video;
Yes, that's right. [Though, will this have backlash later if she finds out the truth?
Well . . . at least maybe she will be more ready to take the truth then.]
We,--well I, as again, I can't speak for Rosalind--, had been given the impression that Comstock envisioned a bright future for you. If I had known sooner, I wouldn't have waited.
[Bright future is one way of putting it.]
Re: Video;
A bright future? He was experimenting on me!
video until otherwise happens
There is absolutely nothing I could say to justify that, so I won't. What I will say is that in our knowledge, you were to be raised with a great education with the hope that you would change the world. [spins the truth, spins it a lot.]
That hope for the best cast a shadow over my eyes, and I will admit that it was wrong.
Re: video until otherwise happens
Thank you. [She said finally, her words clipped.] I'm glad you wanted what was best for me. I'm just sorry that Comstock fooled you, as much as he fooled anyone.

I'm sure you can understand a desire to have faith in others.

Comstock wanted your faith. He wanted everyone's faith. He didn't fancy himself a prophet. He saw himself a god.

But here they are over the network, and still this feeling radiates from him, in his face, his eyes and voice as he speaks.]
When one is the sole provider of words, eventually they see the power they hold and begin to twist things into their own ideals. A fine line between vision and madness.
God knows I've crossed that line myself on occasion.

But at least he can see the error in his ways. At least he hired Booker to get her out of there. And provided them some sort of assistance on their quest.
There's something about Robert, though, that's comforting. Elizabeth isn't sure what it is, it's different from how she feels about Booker, far more similar to how she feels about Rosalind. Oddly familiar with them.
And here, in this unfamiliar world, she's afraid to ask why that is. Even more so, because she knows the answer. Because they visited her in her tower. They had to have.]
You've... All the times I remember, you've been kind to me. Thank you.

You're welcome. I'm glad to see the little bird has grown her flight feathers.

I guess I have.
