Okay, so. Besides the fucking disappearances, I've got kind of a serious question. They just had this whole holiday dedicated to ghosts and candy, right? Because when I think of ghosts, I definitely think of candy and toys or some shit.

[a pause, before she remembers the video isn't on and they can't actually see her]

And, like... I got the shit scared out of me by something before I realized it wasn't actually a ghost. I don't really believe in ghosts. Or things like heaven... and probably not god either. I mean-- fuck, it's difficult to explain.

Anyway... how many people here do?

Just curious. Because, who knows... Maybe there's a reason it's important. And there was a whole damn holiday that sure as fuck didn't come from this place, apparently.

For someone who was practically raised by a nun, no, I don't believe in a god. When you've had a life like mine, and you come from a world like mine, it's hard to believe in a god.

I used to want to believe in God. Or believe that He could forgive, at least. But if He exists, He gave up on me a long time ago.

They have the same holiday where I'm from. The leap from ghosts and graveyards to candy and toys never made much sense to me, either.

It would be nice if there was an afterlife, but I think it's better to operate under the assumption that this is the only life you get. You'll end up with fewer regrets that way.

If there is a God, he has abandoned his people. He has let us suffer and done nothing to help us. If there is a God, I'm not sure he believes in me, so why should I believe in him?

But the gods exist. It is not a matter of belief, though I am told many Easterners worship them.

I cannot say about 'ghosts'. Our souls depart within a matter of days from our site of death, though perhaps it is different with your people. They could linger until they are reborn.

I've seen ghosts. I've seen things that shouldn't be there. So belief in God shouldn't be too hard.

No. I believe in him. But I believe there are people out there who use him, and his will, to justify terrible, evil things. If there is a God, he is loving and forgiving.

See, that's the thing. Usually when you think "oh I can't explain that creak, ohhh i'm so scared!" Someone comes out with a gun and kills a fucking Infected, or a building collapses because it was on it's last legs.

I've never seen a ghost.

And we had... undead corpses, before that. The ghosts were at least friendly.

And we had spirits here, last year about this time. Most of them were just around. A very few were... less friendly.

Back home, I was always taught to believe that God would protect you if you were deserving of his protection.

[Her choice of words is very important here. It was something she was taught, not blindly followed. And the specifics of it being people who deserved, though even that was relatively subjective.]

When it comes to ghosts, I've seen enough to be a believer that they exist. Both good and bad in nature. We also saw ghosts in this world as well.

As for God, I have faith.
