Hello there, my dear fellow captives. I've missed you all so very much, and I'm sure the feeling has been quite mutual.

[ Loki sounds positively playful and is quite cheerfully smiling as he addresses whatever audience he might gather, though there's a contrasting uncharacteristicly careworn quality to his body language. ]

Blessed with good fortune is Loki, let me tell you. Though there was a little peril to my very soul for a few days, a clever rescue cleared that all right up. It put some things in perspective here, I think. Strange how it is I find myself with most everything I could possibly desire save that aforementioned threat of what I think may have been potentially erasure from reality.

By the by, my brother is here in duplicate-- handsome, muscular fellow, likes his hammer. You'll all get along well with Thor, everyone does. That goes especially for people that don't like me, few though you may be.

So how was your week? What did I miss? Was it terribly interesting?

[ The title and her name are said with only the barest hint of his distinctive Asgardian accent. He spends a lot of time following a French girl around like a puppy. ]

So how are you settling in? You are new, I imagine.

I arrived this weekend. It seems our world is well-represented here.

The Emperor certainly does have interesting taste.

I'll admit, though, it's questionable whether anyone hails from the same universe as anyone else, though the parallels are often quite strong.

Since we don't have many brought in from the same point in the time-line, I suppose we have no way of knowing for certain which particular universe it is.

[Although she knows Stark's from the same one as she is, since he also went through Civil War.]

I do love the smell of timeline shenanigans in the morning, don't you? Just what you need when you have a multiversal mash-up.

[ He pauses, considering. ] But it'd not be too hard to sort out if certain other things happened first, but we'll have to be patient there.

[She's so enthused by the idea of more crap, isn't she, and she narrows her eyes, curious and sharp.]

Speaking from experience?

Well, I am me, after all. Don't let my youth fool you, I have wide and varied experience despite it, and certain interdimensional magics are in my repertoire.

I'm well aware. In fact, you were amongst my first choices for bringing us all here, but I was tipped off by the lack of flair and no impressive monologue.

[She shakes her head.]

No, I'm referring to you being patient about timeline shenanigans. That's a mystery worth solving.

Oh, thank you for understanding. Someone gets it! You've no idea how often I get blamed for the most poorly executed of efforts, as if I'm an amateur. [ He scoffs. ] As for patience, well...

[ Trailing off with a rather fluid shrug seems the right answer. ]

[Oh, Loki's anything but an amateur, to Monet. He might look like a child, and be a member of the Young Avengers now, but she highly doubts she'll ever trust him, even if she wasn't normally extremely distrustful.]

It would be unexpected if you were, wouldn't it?

Yet so many expect the unexpected. There's just no telling.

Do I seem the sort of trickster god that's often infuriatingly vague while still yet managing to be just charming enough to get away with it simply because I can?

[She gives him a Look that says 'yes, you do seem like the type', but then just smiles, genially.]

I'll try not to make assumptions about Loki.

I'll do my level best to make sure you've no reason to think me predictable. It'll be fun.

[She holds up a glass, full of fresh fruit juice, in a cheers gesture.]
