VOICE.
Iorveth.
I can't find him. It is as before, is it not?
He will reappear again as he always does. He will apologize that he had disappeared in the first place. He would not leave me on my own, would he? No, of course not... elves do not abandon other elves. That is not in our nature.
Is that not right?

voice;
Yaha, you all right? Who's Iorveth?
voice;
No, I'm very sad. Iorveth is someone that I thought of as a father. He was the first elf that I had seen in such a long time. But that's to be expected when one's race is cut down, yes? Still... I had hoped to have been able to spend time with him. Or go with him. But he left without me.
It must have been too dangerous for me to follow... I do not wish to lay my body at his feet and call it his fault, after all. For he would see it that way even if I would not. Still... my heart does ache a bit.

I don't get why people go home at all. If we're supposed to be here fighting some war, why send us back? It doesn't make sense.
voice;
It really does weaken the morale of those that are left behind.
voice;
Not only that--why bring us here at all? It's like saying "We need you--no wait, changed my mind. Go back to being dead or whatever, don't care about you anymore."
voice;
Because they're crazy. Constant war drives even Gods insane.
voice;
voice;
But enough that it is almost like home.
voice;
voice;
Constant strife to the point that even the Gods go mad. The battles that we all face small and big which chip away at our resolve.

The world was torn apart by the Empire eighteen years ago. Creatures that should never be called through in the dark started to make their way into my world. Insanity screamed through the world. Then famine, drought... horrible things which were unspeakable as people crawled their way back to the a more civilized manner of living. And we are still fighting for that peace.

The elves did not assist in the battle against those that were trying to call to those dark entities. We ... we did not know that was what they were doing. We were under the impression it was for land and influence. Who could think that there would be those who would desire their own annihilation? The truth came out too late.
By that time, the elves were all ... but I remained. And I was blamed for their sin in not helping when we could. Perhaps, if they did, such horrors would not have happened in the first place...
voice;
voice;
I do not blame them, of course. [ Lies upon lies. ] It was just the way of things.
voice;
voice;
I could have told you that.

And when things are easy, they are what is grasped first.
