The ruler of this place is a female and yet she rules it so completely different than what I'd expect. Everything here is...easy and the rules are...simple.
Does anyone here that has power of any kind rely on any form of deity? And if so, do you still feel a connection to them here? Or just have the powers they gave you?
[So he doesn't really want to know about you personally. He's more trying to work out in advance if any of his sisters or higher born females arrive if they're gonna be bad news.]

[voice]
An' I'm a right comedian, I know.
[And Eridan nods. You'd think they should just put up video, but alas.]
I getcha. Is that why you were askin' about powers from deities? 'Cos you don't want to face the wrath a your own for hawin' heretical wiews and the like? [While Eridan thinks their way of ruling is fucking stupid, he still has some respect for how they uphold their ways. It's their culture, after all, and from Eridan's view point, Dinin would basically be a lowblood complaining about highbloods. Which, makes him feel less than sympathetic towards him, even if he does think the gender thing is pretty dumb.]
Agreed. An' that wery well may be it. I don't get this holiday, but they seem pretty damn infatuated with it. They're a whiny and pathetic species, and I'm outright offended that I got to be subjected to their ilk.
[He'll just leave out the fact he's been invited to a Thanksgiving dinner and is going, as well as having made a friend that's human. But whatever.]
[voice]
From what I understand it's just an excuse to stuff their face and spend time with each other. Which I wouldn't be surprised if all their little holidays were centred around the constant need for attention and food. [He might just slam his head against a wall when he hears about Christmas because shit, this will be awful.]
I'm offended at being here period.
[voice]
Seems to be the case, yeah. They're all about attention and positiwe emotions, and it's pretty pathetic watchin' 'em grasp for it so desperately.
[A sigh.]
Well, of course I am too, but it's worsened with them crawlin' ewerywhere. Glad to know I ain't alone in my disgusted regard for their ilk.
[voice]
It's sickening, though it does mean they have plenty of weaknesses to exploit.
I thought it was bad enough that I was brought to the surface world, and then I saw who I was stuck with. I was afraid that everyone here might have been like them, but pleasantly surprised to see otherwise.
[voice]
Yes they fuckin' do. Makes 'em easy to play too, always expectin' the best outta ya, ewen when you got no reason to be held in such a regard.
[He lets out an amused sound, almost like a laugh.] Is that your way a sayin' you like me? Aaw, I'm touched.
[voice]
[Now that would be something he would wish was true for him as well, having no siblings. His family was a little on the messed up side. He doesn't like to talk about it :|
He's grinning now.]
That's one of the small delights I'm finding here.
[And then there's a snort and a bark of laughter.] I wouldn't go that far.
[voice]
Aw, come now, I'd say we're well on our way to a established friendship. [Of course he's being sarcastic, but he's, maybe, somewhat being sincere. Just a little. He kinda likes this guy, and he much rather make enemies with humans than the non-humans. Though, he's fine regardless, beyond that 'friend' means 'enemy' where he's from anyways, so it isn't like he'd let his guard down even if they were on the more positive end a social interactions. He's a fucking island, after all, it isn't like he actually needs anyone.]
[voice]
[Pfft, who needed friends? Who needed people? They weighed you down and you never knew if they'd stab you in the back. So obviously it was best to do the stabbing first, right? And maybe being on slightly better terms with him wouldn't be too bad. Plus he didn't like the humans which was a good thing.]
Oh yes, how could I not see it? The best kind.
[voice]
[Eridan is definitely the 'stab them in the back first' type of guy. So he totally gets the mentality. Trolls kind of promoted that way of thinking, after all!]
Certainly, what else do you need to bond ower than a mutual disgust a inferior species, right?
[voice]
And with their numbers being so high, there's enough to last a good while.
[voice]
An' they only seem to be increasin'. Honestly, it's their own fault if they're dumb enough to trust someone that ain't a their own race, let alone who is wastly outnumbered by them.
[voice]
[voice]
[But Eridan doesn't sound put off by the idea, not in the slightest. He's kinda got... a thing about genocide. A thing where he really really is romanced by the idea of it.]
[voice]
[voice]
[A beat.]
Perhaps we can arrange a time and place sometime soon, I'd be down for it today, but I got a prior arrangement. [aka He's going to a Thanksgiving thing. He's a huge hypocrite.]
[voice]
I currently have nothing to do here that would get in the way of making plans. Maybe we should go by your schedule.
[voice]
That'd probably be best, I'm fairly busy after all. [more like not at all] Let's see... [There's some shuffling around, like he's looking at something, clearly his busy, busy schedule.]
We could next week sometime, I can get back with you on a specific date, assumin' nothin' comes up. [Like the approaching landfall, wwhat a surprise.]
[voice]
[And he waits, but no one said there was any kind of patience behind it.]
You know how to get in touch. [So rude of it.]
