[When Costigan clicks on the video, he's looking a little bit sickly. It's not terrible, just as if he hasn't been sleeping well or caught a spot of food poisoning. He takes a sip of what seems to be alcohol before he speaks.]

I bought a couple things I could use help deciphering, if anyone's able.

There are some maps.. [He lifts a couple pages to display some metatemporal maps.] I don't understand them. They aren't like any maps I've ever seen.

[He shuffles some pages, setting the maps down and displaying an ancient scroll next.]

Then there's this scroll. If anyone speaks whatever this is. I want to- it needs to be translated. It's important.

[He pauses and sets the scroll down.]

What makes it possible? Study, skill, some sort of.. genetic.. mutation?

The going theory is that it's a little bit of all of the above. In certain futures, the technology exists to travel in time and across parallels, but to do so whilst avoiding certain ... complications—that takes certain inborn traits that not everyone has.

Not everyone can be good at everything. I can't draw for beans, for instance.

True. Yeah, sure. I didn't know 'time traveler' was an option.

Most people don't. And before you get too envious—trust me, it isn't a very comfortable one.

[He chuckles.] Trust me, I'm not. Sounds like a fuckin' nightmare.

[And he means that, taking another sip of his drink as he thinks about it.]

[Una nods; her smile is a bit grim.]

That it can be. Really, just the fact that these [the charts] are considered helpful navigational tools should tell you everything you need to know.

It tells me enough. [He agrees. Costigan takes another sip of his drink, straightening from the kitchen counter.]

I hate to be rude, but I'm meeting someone in a few. [He rolls his shoulders before finishing his beer. The sentiment is sincere. Catty's coming over pretty soon.] Now we know we're neighbors, right? You feel like you need a drink, you can stop by.
