I'm not working alone now. At Wayne Industries, I mean. My job by definition requires me to work with a team. I just... am kind of used to dealing with jobs only I can handle as Invincible.

I really like the summits of mountains. To be totally honest, I have difficulty feeling the temperature anymore, so I can just go there whenever and stay as long as I want. It's just... really relaxing, to sit there and stare at the snow.

Uh huh. [The sheer incredulity of the words is mostly teasing. Hayley appreciates the distraction from her troubles and is more than happy to take advantage of it.]

[Then she stares at him for a few seconds, wondering if he realizes how crazy that is.] Does it ever unnerve you? Like, not feeling temperatures? That's.. kind of intense.

Not at first. I mean, when I'm here or when I'm home, it's no big deal, because the temperature really doesn't fluctuate too badly. Like home I know "oh, it's December, I should wear a coat." But... it gets freaky when you're somewhere that's super cold or super hot, and you realize.... you just don't feel it. I mean, if you burn me I'll feel it, but if you hold the flame near me I won't really tell it's warmer there compared to everywhere else around me. It really scared me when I accidentally revealed who I was to that superhero guy named Barnaby. I was basically wearing a tank top. In what I can only imagine was subzero weather. And I didn't notice.

[But that feeling is nothing compared to the realization he had that he can crush anyone like a grape if he grabs them too hard.]

Huh. [And they're back into the territory of things so far outside Hayley's realm of understanding and empathy that she has a hard time processing the information. As before, she still finds it all intriguing and continues with her quasi-interrogation instead of taking the time to think through things.]

Isn't it hard breathing up there? With the atmosphere all thin and whatever? Wait- you do have to breathe, right? You're not some like, zombie who can totally not breathe for years and be okay.

No no no! I mean, I can totally hold my breath for a few hours, but that's it. My dad said once he could hold his for two weeks, and he's... well he's really old. So breathing is definitely important.

I like breathing.

That's.. weird. The two weeks, not a few hours. A few hours is impressive, but a couple weeks is like.. deep see monster, borderline zombie stuff.

[She makes a face simultaneously amused and creeped out.] Breathing is awesome. It's one of the few things I think people don't really underrate.

Like I said, really old. And not "teenager-thinking-anything-over-30-is-old" old. Like.... I think he might be a thousand years old old.
