[Say hello to Emma Frost, an intimidatingly beautiful but apparently normal human woman who is not especially pleased to be on a giant turtle and drafted into some kind of metaphysical war. She's got it dialed down to an aura of vague irritation, though, and she leans back in the large desk chair that came with her Fire Sector suite. The deep brown of the leather sets off her pale coloration and low-cut white X-Men uniform to excellent effect, and if you think she didn't plan that, you haven't met Emma.]

Please tell me there's a half-decent salon somewhere on this planet.

[If she has to do her own roots she's switching to diamond form until the problem is resolved, see if she doesn't.

Doing as well as I can be while kidnapped into another dimension to fight some cosmic evil in the middle of a frigid winter.

We've both been here for a little more than a year now. But there are others that have been around longer.

[Temporal anomalies are some Days of Future Past nonsense and Emma wants no truck with any of it.]

You don't know the half of it. [Awkward pause.] Okay, sorry if this sounds weird but what was the last big thing that happened back home? What tried to kill us all most recently?

Skrulls. I'm afraid they rather underestimated us.

["Us" meaning the X-Men. The baselines didn't do nearly as well.]

The invasion? Oh man...it's been awhile since that for me and Santo.

[She simply does not give a fuck about potentially messing up the timeline because it's not like it could get much worse.]

Well...uh...[He frowns a moment, rubbing the back of his neck. He glances away, thinking for a moment.]

Without getting too specific...the government being even stupider than it was during the registration act stuff, fake X-Men, getting trapped in a horrible alternate reality, Dr. Doom, lots of Sentinels, time travel trouble, cosmic forces trying to wipe everything out, vampires, techno-organic zombies, demons, Quentin Quire, Wolverine and Cyclops being incredibly dumb...and too many funerals...

Is there anyone farther down the timeline that we should be wary of?

[Who sells out whom? Someone's always selling out.]

Loki. I'm not sure when exactly he's from but he's here as some kind of little kid form and definitely not to be trusted.

There are a couple others from farther ahead or around the same time as me and Santo but they're on our side so probably nothing to worry about.

[She's pre-Cabal, at least. So that's one thing Loki doesn't have on her.]

He's Loki. Was anyone in danger of trusting him?

There almost definitely was. Or still is. And not just people not from our world. The little kid thing can food some people.

And people can be very stupid.
