[Despite having been taught how to use the computers and the seeming necessity of doing so, Hans hadn't been quick to make his entrance. He's been observing, trying to get an idea of the sort of people he'll come across here, it's a while before he's entirely ready to begin playing along.

A bright, smiling face will appear on the feed, he's pretty delighted that he's learned how to work the contraption with such ease. He seems a little unsure of how to start, whether he should introduce himself or head straight into the issues here. Instead, he opts for small talk.]

It was very nice of the people here to teach us how to use these, we don't have anything like it where I'm from. [He gives a soft laugh.] I thought I should take the time to introduce myself. I am Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, but since they aren't here... [He trails off, looking just a bit concerned by that.] Hans, will do.

I haven't been here long, so any information you can provide would be most appreciated..And in turn, if there is any way in which I can assist you, please do not hesitate to let me know. [He can't help bowing his head a little at the computer. He's not really sure if you're meant to bow at them. Royalty could be watching, it seems a safe bet.]

A prince, huh? I think that makes you... the second, or third, one that I know. Depending on whether the heir of Latveria's throne counts as a prince, but that's complicated.

I'm glad to be one of them! It's certainly jarring to be one of such a small number compared to what I'm used to.

Oh, I wouldn't go that far - I'm pretty sure I don't know everybody here - the count might be much higher.

Anyway. You don't have computers - what's the place where you come from like, then?

[ Friendly? Friendly. ]

From what I've heard so far, it's not half as common as it is back home. But then, I have thirteen brothers and we're all princes!

It's a little hard to describe without anything to compare it to. [He shrugs his shoulders. Informal, yes, but he get the impression it doesn't matter too much.] Why don't you start by telling me about your home?

Kinda the other way around, for me. I mean, I've met some royalty, but not exactly a day-to-day experience. Also. [ Cassie waves. ] Singe child. It must've been noisy growing up, wasn't it?

[ It almost covers the slight shadow that passes over her face, when asked to describe her home. Not because of anything else, other than that she's not going to be seeing it again, so. That, she's learned to deal with. Well, learning, at least. ]

Ummmm. Right. If you don't have computers, you don't have skyscrapers, either, right?

Noisy is one word for it. [He scoffs.] They could be pretty quiet when they wanted to.

[Buuut he's happy to move on from that.] Skyscraper? What's a skyscraper? [Guess that's a no.]

Now, that's more discipline than any thirteen kids I've ever seen. I mean. Not that you're a kid, obviously, but you know what I mean.

[ Cassie grins. ]

Thought not. So. Imagine the tallest tower you've seen. Now think of the tallest buildings--

Have you been to the Metal sector here in Keeliai, yet? That'd give you a start, really, though real skyscrapers are really waaaay taller.

To be fair, a lot of them were almost adults by the time I was born. [He chuckles.] They're all pretty good at mischief, for a family of princes.

Right, right. [He nods along, considering it.] I know where I'll take a stroll next. But to answer your question, no. We have more castles and churches and our towers are usually clock towers. Does that help you get a better idea?

Ummm. How many floors high is that? Eight? Twelve?

I believe it's closer to eight than twelve, roughly. How tall is a skyscraper, generally? ..And what do you do with them?

[ Sliiightly sheepish expression. ]

I hundred... and more? I think the Sears Tower in Chicago is somewhere around... a hundred and fifty?

Usually it's a mix of office space and residence apartments. And, you know. Sometimes restaurants and bars and such. I mean, a lot of people like having a good view of the city around them - those that aren't afraid of heights, of course.

A hundred? That's amazing! I can't imagine what the view must be like... [He trails off for a moment as he considers it before he realises that's probably stupidly dorky and snaps out of it.] I can't believe all the stuff I've missed out on.

[ Cassie giggles a little at his excitement, but then takes her cue from his more dignified follow-up, answering seriously, if with her eyes still twinkling. ]

You don't have to have missed it. If you don't have computers, it probably just hasn't happened, yet. So, not any fault of yours, all right?

Of course I'm not responsible, but it's hard not to feel a little behind with everything I've learned in an hour. [He does grant her a smile for comforting her.] Did they mention what year it is? I..may have missed it in the overload.

Ummmm I don't think it's supposed to be any particular year. I mean, different people come here from different times - it may be from a few days away from each other, or years, or even centuries. And different worlds. Sometimes, it's fun to find out how things are different!

But it's just... not a case of 'supposed to'. Is all.

That's comforting to hear. [He gives her a warm smile.] You're right, it would be much better to make the best of a bad situation rather than waste my time moping about it.

Pretty much... how it goes about almost any situation, ever. Either fix it, or make the best of it. Right?
