[It has been a very interesting two months for Aya thus far. The young not-so-Artificial Intelligence has already learned so much. About Keelai. About the multiverse. About her fellow Foreign "visitors" and, perhaps most importantly, about herself. And how little she actually knows about herself, and the circumstances surrounding her apparent unique creation.]

[Which is what brings her to the Network for a third time. Her eyes are shining with their usual curiosity, although this time, they are enhanced by a certain...hesitation behind them. An uncertainty that emphasizes her surprisingly (and deceptively) young age.]

There is something I am curious about. As your localized Network System appears to be the best place to make such public inquiries, I have chosen to make mine here as well.

[Somehow, when she preempts with this rather innocent statement, it sounds like she's apologizing for wasting everyone's time. Despite the importance to her, personally.]

I have had several conversations regarding...memories. In particular, those that people are able to access, and those they are not. It has been drawn to my attention that, upon departing from this world, any and all memories of this place are to be deleted from one's memory banks without fail. [She is not okay with this, of course, and yet this is still not the main focus of her post.] It has also been drawn to my attention that there are certain memories in which the majority of organic beings are capable of retaining as well as forgetting.

I was programmed to never forget. And yet...I have been made aware that there are certain events which must have occurred in my life that I cannot remember. I find this both curious and disconcerting. Which is why I must ask:

Is it common for one to possess no memories of the circumstances surrounding one's birth?

More so, I am also curious as to precisely what kinds of memories everyone appears to retain best.

[[PRIVATE MESSAGE - TONY STARK (MCU)]]

[Shortly after her more public message, one in a drastically different change of tone will appear on Tony's screen. For either him or JARVIS to encounter first]

I have completed the designs of the sweaters--[here, a small image of said sweater will appear on his screen for visual]-- you requested for the office. Pending your approval, and a total count of sweaters necessary, I shall proceed to create one for each member of the company.

I have heard repeated warnings of it being able to cross realms and realities, possibly following us home were this turtle to fall. No telling if it could do it on its own, but all the same, the choice word of 'following' us is enough to give me pause.

It would certainly put a few kinks in my plans back home, that much is certain. I was already dealing with a planet-wide threat; I don't need them stacking up like that.

All the more reason to truly apply ourselves towards the efforts here on this turtle, isn't it? One headache at a time, please.

As far as your inquiry towards memory, what do you plan to do with that particular information? Why would a construct be concerned with gaps in the memory? Maybe you were just not completely put together at that time. Or something of that nature. Didn't have your memory banks installed yet. Who knows.

You're a robot of some kind. Made of metal and wires and electricity, I'd hazard. A good deal more polite than most I've met and shaped like a green Overlander to boot.

Why would what you are even be a concern? I simply can't fathom all this existential angst. I haven't much an idea as to what I am, if you want more candid honesty on my part, and I don't exactly lose sleep over it. I know I'm an Ixis wizard and I'm very competent at it. That's all I need. Perhaps yours is more of a question of being happy with the information you have? Press forward and make a legacy and definition for yourself; you might not like what you dig up from your past, and then what?

But if you are truly greater than the sum of your parts, you should continue to forge ahead and define yourself on your own terms and not by what your creator had intended for you, deviant programming or not. You know you are exceptional for what you are; why is that not sufficient? I take all kinds of comfort in that notion; that we are unique, even if the genesis of what pulled us together and formed us is a mystery.

I suppose I don't fault you for your curiosity. I just personally can't fathom the fixation, despite very much being in the same position as you. It is the past and it means little now. It would likely not change who and what I am today, so what's the point?

I will continue to be candid in good faith and because this conversation proves interesting.

I simply feel there is nothing worthwhile or nothing good down that path. I am the last of my sect, the only one of my sort. All knowledge that is obtainable about the Order of Ixis is either lost for good or already known to me. I am unlike any other Mobian I have ever encountered, and what good would learning about a possible past race of my kind serve me? They're obviously all gone now, if there ever were any others at all. I could be some manner of hybrid, really, and piecing together what all of the elements are is a puzzle that does not interest me for the reasons stated.

As it is now, I am unique. Were I to discover more, I would be alone.

The only history that matters to me is the history of my Order and I do my best to archive it. As I said, being a hybrid is likely, as there is no other Mobian like me and it is not often one type drops entirely off the face of the planet without documentation, as it did with the echidnas or the devil dogs. And if that is the case, there is no history. I'm just a chimera of hodge-podge heritage. Confirmation on this matters not to me.

[This is the most introspective he's gotten in years and it's starting to make him itch a little. Let's try and change the focus back onto her.]

Why? In a perfect world, what would you hope to uncover for yourself?

And if it were a negative past that was uncovered? Learning that you were made from something unglamourous, or for a gruesome task, say?

And what does that inform? How does that impact you? I thought this was learning about your inner workings, not hers.

[He ponders a long while, his claw raking thoughtfully through his beard as he squints at the robot in consideration. After a good long while, he speaks again.]

...Fair enough. I suppose I can see merit in this all if indeed approached in that manner. That this is to discover what shortcomings or weaknesses you may have, in order to avoid or end them. I'd imagine with being a construct, they'd be that much easier to deal with. Black and white, concrete answers and solutions, rather than any drawn-out soul-searching or self-realization. If you couldn't tell, I'm not the sort for introspection.

What do they call you, little robot?

Hm. Aya.

I am Ixis Naugus. This has been an...interesting conversation, don't you agree?

I wish you luck on your journey of self-discovery, then. I've warned you of the potential pitfalls, and I supposed that is enough for me.

Until next time.
