[It has been a very interesting two months for Aya thus far. The young not-so-Artificial Intelligence has already learned so much. About Keelai. About the multiverse. About her fellow Foreign "visitors" and, perhaps most importantly, about herself. And how little she actually knows about herself, and the circumstances surrounding her apparent unique creation.]
[Which is what brings her to the Network for a third time. Her eyes are shining with their usual curiosity, although this time, they are enhanced by a certain...hesitation behind them. An uncertainty that emphasizes her surprisingly (and deceptively) young age.]
There is something I am curious about. As your localized Network System appears to be the best place to make such public inquiries, I have chosen to make mine here as well.
[Somehow, when she preempts with this rather innocent statement, it sounds like she's apologizing for wasting everyone's time. Despite the importance to her, personally.]
I have had several conversations regarding...memories. In particular, those that people are able to access, and those they are not. It has been drawn to my attention that, upon departing from this world, any and all memories of this place are to be deleted from one's memory banks without fail. [She is not okay with this, of course, and yet this is still not the main focus of her post.] It has also been drawn to my attention that there are certain memories in which the majority of organic beings are capable of retaining as well as forgetting.
I was programmed to never forget. And yet...I have been made aware that there are certain events which must have occurred in my life that I cannot remember. I find this both curious and disconcerting. Which is why I must ask:
Is it common for one to possess no memories of the circumstances surrounding one's birth?
More so, I am also curious as to precisely what kinds of memories everyone appears to retain best.
[[PRIVATE MESSAGE - TONY STARK (MCU)]]
[Shortly after her more public message, one in a drastically different change of tone will appear on Tony's screen. For either him or JARVIS to encounter first]
I have completed the designs of the sweaters--[here, a small image of said sweater will appear on his screen for visual]-- you requested for the office. Pending your approval, and a total count of sweaters necessary, I shall proceed to create one for each member of the company.

It is not within the nature of a Green Lantern to refuse a sector our assistance, if it is truly needed. Which I fully believe to me the case here.

However, that does not eliminate the fact that help is, indeed, needed. We should not fault the people for the actions of their former ruler. I know I do not.
no subject
[ He's kidding, but only just. ]
Look, I'm not saying we shouldn't help people. Helping peoples' fine. But we shouldn't believe everything we're told either.
no subject
Agreed.
This is why I will help, but I will do it on my or Honor Guard Rayner's terms.
no subject
Atta girl. I don't know who Honor Guard Rayner is or why the poor person got saddled with such an unwieldy name — [ He's kidding. He really doesn't know Rayner, but he knows that isn't a first name. ] — but unless he or she is a huge creep, I applaud your shrewd sense of judgment.

[It was...not an unpleasant feeling. Similar to Sergeant Kilowog's demeanor--and, yes, that was a compliment.]
no subject
Only the special ones. The rest can go fend for themselves. I know, contradiction. But it's true.
[ Translation: Tony likes AI better than humans and since she is one, that means she gets special treatment. ]
Our little secret though, okay? Don't tell your coworkers I like you better than them.
no subject
Tell them...what, precisely?
no subject
Exactly. Also that you got a raise. And an office. A bigger office. Did you have one already? Now it's bigger.
no subject
I appreciate the gesture, but I am not certain an office of any size is necessary. I am perfectly suited working in the laboratories were I currently do. The equipment is there.
no subject
Of course it's necessary! It's absolutely necessary. You can't lord your position over everyone without an office. It's the mark of getting paid a lot of money to do whatever you damn well please. You have to take it. The social structure of the working world will crumble if you don't.
[ Also, he's a drama queen. ]
no subject
If you insist.
However, I do not see why I must lord anything over any other individual. You are the boss, correct? Is Lord not the title you should possessed instead?
[When Queen Tony just won't do....]
no subject
Nah, I like to delegate titles. Iron Man's the only one I need. And that's not really a title. It's more like a state of mind. You can be the lord instead. Lord Aya of the Lanterns. It has a nice ring to it, I'm sold.
no subject
[Oh. Wait. This was another expression, was it not? Meant to convey his approval.]
...if that is what you desire to call me, then I do not see the harm.
no subject
[ It's true. Tony's nicknames are occasionally terrible and he knows it. Dummy also likes to play stupid, so it's no one's fault that he got saddled with that name but his own. ]
We should probably get you an assistant. Someone to handle your calls, take notes, the whole nine yards.
no subject
[She has to ask.
We'll get back to the whole assistant thing in a moment.]no subject
[ His family. His first friend. His assistant. His sometimes chef. One of his greatest, if sloppiest, creations. ]
He's part of the family. First AI I created. Remind me to introduce you sometime. He's here too.
no subject
Another fellow Artificial Intelligence?
Why did you not speak of him sooner?
no subject

[Ask about LANOS sometime. Aya's (inorganic) "little brother". No, really. They never met, personally, but she heard aaaaall about him from the boys.]
I would be very interested in making his acquaintance, yes.
no subject
[ He flashes her a smile. ]
Just give me a few days to get the kinks ironed out.
[ Because he really would like Dummy to not accidentally trash some of his more sensitive equipment. ]
