[ River is less sure how to explain the second part so she works on the console for a moment and creates a new encryption filter of approximately 50%, leaving Mike to figure it out if he wants to continue the conversation. ]

You mean the code. I encrypt some of my messages to make them harder for people who shouldn't be reading them to hack into.

[ River toys with the encryption and enjoys it, turning it on algorithms on its side. ]

I like these. They're fun, like little puzzles.

[Now an excuse to test different coding methods, Mike finds one of his alternative ideas makes things less secure. At least now he knows.]

[ River hasn't exactly secured a job yet given her peculiarity (and also the fact that she hasn't really looked for one) so she's interested, because it's new and might be a challenge. Her new encryption is a revolving scale of difficulty, moving across multiple methods which would likely thwart static decryption software or anything without an evolving algorithm. ]

[It doesn't take Mike too long to hack her code, but it takes him awhile to figure out what she did and how it works. He could probably replicate something like it with practice, but it already puts her ahead of him and that's exciting.]

I don't see why not, but I can ask if you're worried about it. I think as long as we're careful and don't make anything that could be used against us by Lucifer, we'll be alright.
