[This does, of course, mean that he can now be seen. He was a little concerned about that when all of this was first being explained to him, but then he saw someone walking around in the city with blue skin and two heads. He’s rather less concerned now.

Are you sure? I look in a mirror almost every day, and I'm amazed by the idea of a civilisation floating on the back of a giant turtle. 'Seeing everything' is very relative.

I have plenty to say. It's all a matter of asking the right questions.

[Why, no, he never really gets tired of people asking how on earth it's possible for him to be walking and talking. He gets frustrated, occasionally, when there are more important questions to be considering; but on the whole, he has a good grasp of things here, so his tone is more one of amusement than one of exasperation.]

That was a mistake on my part. I was experimenting with the console, and I didn't quite think things all the way through.

In case you're still experimenting, let me give you some advice: don't try to crack open the console. You won't be the first to try, and you won't be the first to think they can handle it. It will get volatile goo all over the room, and there is no repairman.

It permanently disables your console. The thing's half organic, maybe more. You know how people say a broken computer's dead? Yeah, it's not a metaphor here.

You'd be able to use consoles in the cafes or log into someone else's, but yours would be a total loss.
