[You may be pleased to know, certain residents of Keelai, that Aya had no intentions of offering another long-winded highly detailed technical analysis of...whatever it is she's up to at the moment.  In fact, her latest message is surprisingly simple:]

It has been brought to my attention that my choice of vocabulary and diction is considered...unnecessarily formal by some.

[To put it mildly.]

I have made several attempts to alter my speech patterns, but have realized that I still lack a more concise understanding of what precisely entails formal versus familiar speech.  Therefore, I am seeking any an all information regarding more colloquial expressions or terms that may be used in everyday conversation, which I will do my best to learn and subsequently employ accordingly.

Thank you.

[Her eyes narrow, however, when the following message is delivered.  Anger was not quite an accurate assessment of her emotions at that particular moment...but annoyance wouldn't have been a stretch.]

You did not follow through with your agreement to meet with me last month, and have since done nothing to rectify this error.

I wish to know why.

[ She's trying, and, well. It's good to keep in touch and try to be helpful. ]

Good. Good call. Then I should let you know that it might be making people a little self-conscious and watching what we're saying - I know I definitely am - and leave you to your research?

And that sounds good, very good.

Oh, no, it's okay. It's not your fault, it's something that people do when they're asked about the things they do. I mean, if somebody tells another person, 'just walk around, I wanna see something about the way you walk,' the second person will walk really funny. It's a good experiment, when it's made in good fun.

And non-judgmental is awesome. For the record.

That's good to hear, Aya. I'm glad that's all getting straightened up for you.

You doing okay, generally?

[ Cassie beams at her, nodding her head. ]

Just right. Working on anything interesting?

Good to hear, yep. You'll let us all know if you find something important, right?

And, man, now I wish there were movie theaters here so I could take you to one, that'd help a lot with the speech thing, too. Don't know if the kedan plays are interesting. [ Thoughtful. ] I'll check that out, and let you know, if you're interested?

Back home, definitely. Here, movie theaters aren't so much of a thing. Just sometimes plays, I think. But, yeah, definitely a place to maybe go and check things out.
