[Stephanie comes on with the kind of grudging expression one sees on the face of a person that's not had a very good day. She's been poking around parts of the Fire District, checking out the brothels and pop quizzing the whores and bribing them as much as possible with what little she's got.

She didn't learn much, and she's out her new favorite snack food. Damn.]

Anyone around here good with a hammer and nail? I've got a messed up window, and a giant crack in my floor courtesy of the storm.

Also - question. I'm curious as to what all info you've gleaned from talking to locals and the Emperor.

I, for instance, learned she's probably not a cannibal.

No, I haven't heard anything concrete. Someone said it might have to do with gathering protectors, but I can't really see how we all fit together.

Considering that we're dealing with multiple dimensions and times, yeah, it's way beyond anything I've ever seen before.

It's almost on par with some sci-fi movies I've seen. Then again, I have a soft spot for bad 1950s sci-fi.

Basically giant sea slugs invade this town and start experimenting on humans. So a rag-tag band of do-gooders tries to take them down. At some point, there's a romantic sub plot involving one of the slugs and a human scientist and they get married at the end.

It's a cinematic masterpiece-- you can see the zippers on the costumes and the audio de-synchs every so often, in addition to having such a tight, plausible plot.

As for it being a real movie... that's unfortunately true.

Well, besides that, I'm not getting a lot. We're here for a purpose, maybe to protect the place, other than that - nothing.

The Emperor was the one who brought us here in the first place, to save this place and combat a threat. It was originally intended as a call for heroes, of a sort, but something went wrong.

[Stephanie looks down at herself.]

I had the chance to talk to the Emperor not long ago. Far as I know, she's brought us here to protect the kingdom. From what, she wasn't exactly clear. But it's big, and it's more than the kedan can handle on their own.

Hm. You got more than I did. At least we know she isn't going to eat us.

Hopefully. If she's native kedan, we might be in trouble.q
