Does anyone know if there's some sort of... central location these spirits seem to be coming from? Or if there's anything we've done to disturb them?

[She looks deeply speculative. All the lore on spirits in her world tends to... function a little differently than it seems to here.]

If we can maybe find out what they want, they should be able to rest. Any ideas?

Of course. It's... a particular interest in mine. So far I've mostly been interested in learning about their combustion engines, though. I haven't had time for much else.

So you like the mechanical side the most?

Mm. I'm an engineer.

[... sort of. It's still odd to be actually calling herself one, but... it fits.]

Cool. Do you work on anything in particular?

[She leans out of the way of the camera. Behind her is a motorcycle that looks very much like an Ural. It's buffed and shiny and candy-apple red and she's obviously put a lot of hours into it, even though it's not quite finished yet.]

A little bit of everything, but that's my pet project. I've been building her from scratch.

[He doesn't even have to pretend he's impressed. It's clear that Asami is really talented.]

Wow. How long have you been working on it?

A little over two months. Everything is custom built. The frame, the parts-- I had to borrow a machinist's shop for some of it, but mm. It'll be worth it once she's out on the road.

It definitely shows. You've got to have people lining up from all around for your services.

I've been building a few things for friends here and there, and I'd love to open my own garage if I--

[She bites her lip.]

If I stay here indefinitely. But I'm not really advertising right now.

With any luck, we won't be stuck here forever.

But I don't see why you can't have a garage in the meantime.

I hope not. There's so much left to do back home.

[Three months. It's strange how much a life can change in so little time. But... meeting Mako, fighting for Republic City... that had been even less than that, hadn't it?]
